So I am really thinking about buying one of these dna200 mods but I am wondering about when I would actually receive this thing if I do. I am also torn between just going with the sx350j Whiteout as I like the board and know what to expect with a dual batt, but when would this ship too is the question?

Anyone have some insight besides the reddit link on their site?

I would not get the SX350J because that chip is outdated. Last I heard, they are shipping late september.

Yeah I know it is not going to be the latest board for long but I do enjoy it and figure I could upgrade it easily enough in the future. I am leaning towards the dna200 but I am a bit skeptical about battery life.

Why spend $50-$70 on a board that is outdated. Yihi is already coming out with a 350J v2 which is going to support other wires for TC as well. Personally I would get the Ares chip though.

DNA200 battery life is good. Unless you vape at 133W and need to switch batteries constantly.

Waiting on mine at the moment. They basically are looking at mid to end of October right now for initial batch. If you can wait till those come out, they said the wait time will be very short on the next runs and they will basically be looking at having stock on hand without pre-orders. Once the tooling and parts sourcing is finished(almost there),they should have a steady supply being shipped in to cover orders quickly. If you do want one, would probably be just as fast to wait till next month to make your final decision. Also, the build kits to swap out and panel kits, spare lipos,etc.. should also be in stock by then.
Hopefully will have mine before Halloween!

I originally ordered the sx350j version. Then when yihi decided that they had to put out the v2 board 9 months after the v1, cloudmaker let me swap to the DNA.
Having the DNA200 and the sx boards both, i will say, i prefer the sx350j in kanthal but I prefer the dna200 in temp control with SS.
The difference between the 2 boards performance in their superior modes is striking! When i say the sx is better with kanthal, its better by huge margin imho! Having the boost fire modes makes the vapes experience exactly what I want. The dna200 in temp control is far superior because of the preheat and customization .
All of that gobbeldy gook said, since yihi appears to be updating the v1, as soon as the dust settles and they figure out what they are going to do, ill order the whiteout SX also and have both, unless evolv figures our how to give kanthal a boost mode. Or yihi lets me use ss in temp mode, either would be ideal

My thinking on it is that I really enjoy the sx350j but want two batts. As far as today the only real difference I know of between the old j and the new j is being able to vape on SS and gold wire. I can't ever see myself vaping on gold wire so that is of little interest to me.

I picture the v2j board as simply a ploy in keeping up with Evolv and that a v3 is soon to follow that is more of a real answer to the dna200. That would be the upgrade I would be interested in. So having the modular would come in handy at that point assuming it can fit into the modular design.

As far as the Ares board I have not dug for much info on it but I am skeptical though as it is unproven.

My patience skills are at amateur level lol. I really want to see these in hand though and get some opinions on whether or not they feel cheap or are solid. I have been thinking screw it and just order one though. I think my lack of commitment between the two boards is the main reason why I am not in the hurry up and wait group.

Interesting. I don't use temp control that much these days. 90% is kanthal but I have temp control devices because that is what is being pushed by the manufacturers. I figured I could still benefit from the 200's on the fly tweaking though. Also I have not tried SS wire and I have been reading how you prefer it so another avenue to check out lol.

Roger that. I go so t sick of fiddlefucking with nickel and the taste of TI, that I stopped bothering with tc and was running just Kanthal, happy as a clam between the boost mode of the sx and the power of the hexohm, but SS, really made me a TC user.
The only atty I have with a Kanthal build left is my Kennedy comp because Its a 22/28 parallel build strictly for volume vaping at high power.
As easy as it is to work with and the cleaner taste of it shicks me,

The v2 would have to be more accurate and precise to run SS, so there is that.

I have faith in Ares because honestly it is not rocket science to build chips. If Adurino has the physical capabilities, then I am sure there are plenty of coders out there who can create some funky stuff for it.

Man, iIhave almost pulled the trigger a couple of times. Just can't seem to do it. The DNA will give me SS now, but I would rather have the 350j. But until Yihi figures out if it will be a upgrade, or releases the v2, there is no real point for me. Such teases.

Better to wait until first batch is out then see what options are available then. If only Yihi would be as transparent as Cloudmaker. Might get lucky and more info will be out by then. Patience is very hard!

I can get the DNA, but I would do the dual 18650. I asked CMT if there has been any discussion of a mini. Surprisingly they said no, but they have discussed a squoker. What ever... But it isn't like DNA doesn't have a checkered past when it comes to their stuff.

That's great that I'm not stuck, but it's a bit silly to buy a $200 box just to turn around and get a $80 chip in a couple months caused iIflipped a coin and got the wrong one. p

Its a modular design, in other words you can swap and add parts, I don't see how they could do a mini? As in a single battery DNA? The idea is to keep the chassis the same with interlocking parts, like I said, pop the lipo out add in dual battery sled in its place. the expansion will just make the lipo compartment wider

Yep, I get it. But lots like a mini too. Making things modular adds size. Still a good idea. Everything has a compromise.
