Looks like the shakedown attempt by this twit backfired. It's scam artists like this young woman (and man) who drive up the cost of products and services due to increased insurance premiums.

It was a common practice years ago to do the same to processed food companys, The goal was to get coupons for free or heavily discounted products. Woman must have heard about the scam from her grandmother.

It's a Shamokin, PA paper so Sunbury, PA would be a good guess.

I'd definitely expect this out of Sunbury. Town has been taken over by the substance that is killing people across the nation

M? If we're talking about a green substance that alone never killed anyone.
Definitely referring to H.
M as in the one they make on Breaking Bad - M*th*mph*t*m*n*
H as in the one that has killed over a dozen of my friends from Baltimore. - H*r**n
The other M is A OK with me;)

I forgot about that "M". Bad stuff too. H has killed so many here in PA. I've seen people do some shady and embarrassing things for a bag of H.... It's a shame.

The "M" is causing the most damage in the center of America.
The "H" is reeking havoc on the East Coast.
I would imagine everything (besides the plant) is an epidemic out West.

I'd also gather they lost the war on drugs... is it still too soon to tell? (sarcasm)

It's a unwinnable "war" for every one dealer they take down 3 more pop up. I've never even seen the big H before I was offered some free, of course I declined. But it's everywhere, way up from 10 years ago. Death rate is up as well.

I'm from Baltimore so right now if I was where I used to live if you handed me $10 and gave me 5 minutes I could have it in your hands.
It had been that way since the 90's there.
But now it's springing up in small towns all over the US and even in the center of the Country.
So NOW they call it an epidemic.
It was an epidemic in 1998 when a bunch of my childhood friends got addicted to it and its an epidemic now that a dozen of them were dead before the age of 30 from it.:(
It will be an epidemic tomorrow when many more are still fighting every day to not die from it.

Once addicted it is a fight every day. It's insane to me it's so easy to get, without even looking for it.

The city is so poverty stricken that a lot of 16 or 17 year old kids don't ever have a chance of getting a real job.

Selling that stuff provides them and their families money to put food on the table.

It really isn't their fault because if no one used that shit then no one would sell it.

Besides that teenager is thinking "If I don't sell this shit on the corner of my block someone else will just come along and do it"
and would be 100% correct about that part.

It's just a sad, helpless, and deadly lifestyle that usually can not be broken without a major change in location.

Watch the documentary, how to make money selling drugs. It's not instructions, it's about people who have to make a living doing it. Good watch. If you can't find it, pm me I'll Dropbox it to you.

Would anyone say there's a choice in the matter? Maybe some of those folks were born with an addiction.

That's true but if you're referring to a mother being addicted while pregnant, the that child won't be addicted for long after birth.
Of course there is a choice, some make the unfortunate one...

Sounds like you ascribe to a lower understanding of the human condition. Our physical makeup isn't even half of the story.
The human psyche plays as big a role, if not bigger than the physical. Ever heard of phantom limb pain? It goes even farther beyond what we understand as of yet but are close to discovering. The human mind is extremely subject to influence even in my personal experience with PTSD.
