I'm personally a convert and have switched to TC exclusively. One of the main reasons for me to make the switch is the lack of dry hits. I vape with old tanks, primarily Russians (KayFun 3.1 style), because they produce the best flavor I've found so far. If you have ever vaped with this style tank, you will know that the juice channels are TINY, and no matter how well you wick it, you will eventually get dry hits because the juice just doesn't wick fast enough through the tiny channels.
With TC, this is not a problem, AND has the added benefit of not needing to be rebuilt as often. My first TC builds went almost 4 months before I rebuilt them (although, I will admit that was probably at least one month too long, maybe more). I do check them a lot more frequently now, and generally rebuild every month or so whether it needs it or not. Ultimately, the real point is that it may not be for everyone, but as already mentioned, most mods have it built in for the same price as mods that don't, might as well get it and have the option to try it out.
Full disclosure, I do also have one Kanger SubTank Mini, but the stock TC coils absolutely suck because they mute the flavor of my juice, but the RBA deck at least makes it usable without killing the flavor.
