Just curious. Does anyone have a mod that they really want? For me I really want the cloud maker whiteout. When I get some extra cash of course? I like the whole customizing aspect of it. From color to chips

Yes sir. That's a mod I think is gunna really change the game. No bs. Every week a new mod or tank is coming out. So they are telling me that this will literally be the last regulated mod I ever buy and everything after that is pretty much "hooking up" your mod with upgrades. Sign me up

Based on this, I may have to re-think my future mod purchases and make this my go to when this is released. Thanks for the info.

For those interested:

Product Description
The Whiteout OS is the third and ultimate configuration of Cloudmaker Tech’s modular, future-proof, user-customizable personal vaporizer. This pre-order is for the Whiteout OS unit, which comes fully-assembled & QC-tested with Cloudmaker’s own Ares chipset in a dual-18650 configuration, outputting up to 120W (firmware-upgradeable)! This chipset delivers the Whiteout’s full potential as a customizable PV, allowing the user to modify and upgrade every aspect of the vaping experience. The menu & homescreen can be completely configured to display what you want to see, new code modules can be loaded & tweaked to add or alter features, and custom community-developed firmware ROMs to supplement official Cloudmaker Tech OEM firmware upgrades for the more adventurous tinkerers!

The genius of the Whiteout is that you can interchange and customize every part of it, from changing the color and material of your device’s panels, to upgrading/swapping your chip itself without soldering or special skills. This future-proof flexibility is thanks to our modular design & specially-developed Build Kits, which are based on community requests and released regularly to expand the possible factory-supported configurations of the Whiteout.

So the CM Whiteout is at the top of my "Dream" list, and the IJOY ASOLO is at the top of my "Reality" list.

That's like a treat myself mod. Which I would love to preorder it but got different priorities that need to be taken care of first

Yeah, my last "treat myself" mod was the ZNA LDE. It was my gift to myself for going a year without a smoke.

My "Dream" mod hasnt been made just yet..Well maybe it has but, everything is split into different mods made by different manufacturers...What id like to see is a jointed effort by some companies to make one mod taking the best of each model and combining them into one mod.

Yihi chip
SMY touch screen menu
Youcantech magnetic 510
Eleaf 100w style case

Not likely to happen anytime soon but, one can dream.

I am wanting the newest Sigelei 200 watt TC mod whenever it comes out. I just hope it's not as disappointing as the Ijoy asolo mod. It was not worth the wait even after winning it in ijoys giveaway.

The Macro DNA40 looks pretty sweet. I'd also love to get my hands on a Hana Mods V4. I just ticked one off my list, the White Kanger Subox kit which should be here tomorrow. The other two cost nearly twice as much so I'll work my way up to them. Baby steps... Sorta.

I really want a MOD that is just simple, but will last for years and years.

Maybe my sigelei 150 already fits this bill? I am buying one mod a month till may as regulations come in in the UK, by then I will have 13 regulated mods and about 5 mechs lol.

Dna200. Don't look bad. It looks small enough to take to work

I just wanted to ask, not directly at you neccesarily, but everyone that owns devices that go to 200 watts, have you ever USED them at 200 watts? How can this be achieved safely with 2 18650's? Or do you use it at a more reasonable rate, say 100 watts and below?

Like I have a Sig 150 and a SMOK Xcube 160 W, but have only really tested them out at max to see if it works, and yes, it does, and yes, it was unpleasant.

I usually vape on them at around 60-80 watts max, and that is well enough to drive a dual coil dripper with 26 or 24 gauge into hot, large vapour production.

I have used claptons at 100 watts and that was OK, but anything else its just too much at that much power, so I always from now on am going to buy 25R's, due to their liberal amp rating and all round-edness, I think they are currently the best battery (apart from High wattage, when I tested at 150 and 160 I used a known, genuine set of VTC4's for this).

Wattage=Voltage x Current (amps)
So a fully charged 18650 can theoretically supply 100 watts (two can supply 200). The problems with that are twofold.
1. That leaves you with little to no headroom.
2. It won't be able to do that when the voltage drops below 4v (4 x 25 amps=100 watts) without drawing more than 25 amps.

To answer your other question. No I don't vape at 200 watts. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Cheers,
Steve

+1 for the cloudmaker. I'm getting one. It'll be really nice to have a mod with options when new chips come out. I've lost faith on the big mod makers trying to cash in on impulse buying. I'd rather have 1 box that I like and the ability to swap chips and battery sleds if necessary.

So yay for cloudmaker tech! Hopefully there's enough support for the device it takes off and hangs around!

So many of these companies will follow suit or won't be able to keep up if cloudmaker tech actually does what it says it's going to do. One mod endless possibilities

VTBOX200 for me. Highest mah rating in the DNA 200 for pretty damn cheap. Just would like it without the branding

Since I've never paid over $100 for a mod. Having upgrade modules at around $100 won't really save me money. I figure at the rapid pace the technology is evolving. Keeping mods purchases to a reasonable amount allows me to charge mods as technology changes without suffering financial ruin lol. As an added benefit, I can gift, sell, or keep the old mods as backups.

There's different ways to look at things. I believe in the law of diminishing returns. You get to a certain point where you have to double (or more) your expense to barely increase performance. I'll take around 95 percent of the performance for 50 percent of the price. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,
Steve

Since vaping has its fair share of tech geeks, open source seems logical. I'm a newbie, but it seems to me the entire industry is where it's at from builders doing their own thing. Power regulation will be no different.

Nothing is future proof. People like new stuff every now and then. But a box is a box. Get it the way you like and run it till it drops. I am looking at Cloud Maker. Not because I'm a builder, but because features and being able to replace parts. Right now, stuff is pretty much on the disposable level. And no point getting other wise with so many working on innovations.

Me... Single 18650 or really small double. LiPo is cool if it has reasonable capacity and gives me smaller form factor. It has to be replaceable though when it craps out. Temp control with SS. Fancy power hits to ramp up and down fast. 100w is more than I need. Already several really good sub tanks on the market to meet my needs. I don't need a fancy display.

... Is that asking too much?

my perfect mod would be
available in a single 18650 like the d2 or dual 18650 model not the way the m class does it

the dual 18650 version would need to be more rounded then most dual battery mods, more of a c shape then a true box shape

both would have something like escripe
both could do tc with any wire using something like esribe
but both should have ti ni and ss prebuilt in

temp changing should be done without entering into a menu system ala the yihi boards

battery doors would need to be simple with either magnetics or the little ball bearings

NO PLASTIC- all solid metal or wood

on board charging when i need it

available in a range of colors

BRIGHT SCREEN

have all the usual safety features

and cost about $50 for the single 18650 and $80 for the dual
