Okies, I am really stupid, unintelligent, ignorant, cause I don't get this

It says 10 fish in the tank, right?
But, add up the numbers it equals to be nine, right?
So, what am I missing? Someone called me stupid when I mentioned it equals nine.
So please, would someone point out what I'm missing.
And yes, I already feel what I wrote above the pic.

I believe the answer is 10 fish- 10 fish are in a tank ! Whether they are dead or not, all the 10 fish remain in the tank so there are 10 fish.
No one should laugh or call you stupid, you are not. Maybe I am wrong?

Couple of ways to go about this. You could say 10 since those 4 can't swim away from a tank and the dead and drowned ones are still in the tank with one living and it says 10 are in the tank. Or just go with one living since the other nine are gone. Or if the the 4 who swam away are really gone you could go with 6 assuming the dead/drowned ones are still in the tank. Then again how would a fish drown? So you could say 3...

As I understand it, they're all in a tank, so they can't go anywhere, even the ones that "swim away", so at the end, the swimming fish, the drowned fish, the dead fish, all are still there, so there are still 10 fish in the tank.

No you're not stupid. The riddle is kinda stupid.

I guess what is getting me, in me brain, is it states 10, but the numbers only add up to nine and me brain is fixated on the numbers 2, 4, 3 which equals 9 not 10. Where did the invisible tenth one go? Was the tenth one even in there? I'll just have to, convince me brain that there is 10 in there just not nine.
