I never got into...

I wonder, just out of curiosity (and a desire to stimulate a little more vaping content on this vaping forum), what aspects of the vast vaping universe people have never tried or maybe tried but didn't get into.

There are a few for me:
- Billet/Boro/AIO type mods. Seemed like too deep a rabbit hole to go down.
- RDTAs. Tried one once. Terrible experience. Never went back.
- Side-by-Sides. Even though a small size is good they just seem limiting.

Anyone else have things they've avoided? What and why, please?

(This is my 1st time starting a thread. Forgive me if I've done something wrong.)

DIY coil making, for fear of getting it wrong and blowing up my building.

People talked about dripping when I was new to vaping. It seemed too tedious to even try.

Was never interested in competition style cloud chucking. I just wanted vaping to mimic cigarette smoking in essential ways.

Big fancy mods, nah. I do have a beautiful KATO Hammer, with a serial number for authenticity (not a clone). I had two but my friend who put me onto vaping had such a bad drooling envy fit, I gave the other one to him. As a mod, it works with my Aspire glassomizers and a single 18350 battery (no dangerous stacked batteries, just the one). It sits securely. When in use, the firing button is on the side, another "must" for me, as I find those bottom firing buttons klutzy.

I still never use it. I save it for show & tell.

Great idea for a thread @Freyja!
  • I never got into the billit box craze either. Those are holes that go deeper than any of my gopher holes.
  • I never really got into tanks. I have some, but I never use them anymore. One misplaced or damaged o-ring or wicking wrong and you got juice all over you. RDTAs are a little better as they aren't as finicky as RTAs.
  • After I moved on from EGOs I've been 100% rebuildable coils. Factory coils to me are just an ongoing expense I could go without and you're out of luck if they stop making them for your tank.
  • With coils, I never got into the coil porn type of coils. I'm good with a good ol' fused Clapton.
Just give me a mech squonk and RSA and I'm good to go.

Thank you, @Bliss Doubt !

lol

People say it used to be the only way to get peak flavor. Some say it still is. I dunno 'bout that but it IS handy for trying new mixes. And RDAs are easy to wick. But I can definitely see your point about it being tedious.

Me neither. I do like to "chuck clouds" once in a while though. You said you wanted vaping to mimic cigarette smoking. Back in the day, I would exhale a lot of smoke from younger, stronger lungs with cigarettes made the way they used to be. Big clouds remind me of that. It helps sometimes.

I hear that! A lot of us do, surely.

Fused Claptons would be a step up for me. Gotta try the good stuff someday soon.

Mixing my own elliquid was something I did a little bit of in the early days, but once I settled on clove as my all day vape, and all of the store bought clove liquids were good, I felt it was much easier (but not cheaper, I'll concede) to just buy it ready made.
