The Sad State of VU

You may remember me as the peer reviewed science, get politically active, guy from the firmer Reddit vaping communities (long since destroyed by the greedhesds that took over Reddit.)

You must have noticed that the anti-vaping Nazis and the disposable plastic teen targeted asshiles won the war for vaping.

Almost all the mod makers, atty designers etc have been driven out of the market, folks making good juice for reasonable prices have gone underground or out of business.

This site is a great site for vapers, unfortunately, the greed heads control the market, and public opinion is against us.

Honestly, what did you expect? Stating with the Juul scandals, then the Vitamin E-Acetate lethal and illegal THC carts started killing stoners, while the media just write about 'killer vapes" , during which the vaping community sat on its hands, kept buying cutesy juice, didn't punish the greedy asshiles looking to make a quick, copyright violating buck...

Frankly, we got what we deserved. Good luck to us in our vaping lives.... We'll need it.

We were asked to contact our congressmen. We did. They preferred PAC money. The old schoolers will still keep using their old mods and mixing their own juice for as long as possible... and ignoring all the vendors here.

Something else is happening. Error messages. VU not loading. Oops. Something has happened, and I have to wait hours to try again, and lag while I wait. That only happens here.

Forums have been on a steep decline for 20 years. All forum, not just vaping forums. Social media killed them.

What I noticed the the last months is that the classified section used to be really active here, now it's rare I get a notification of a new ad posted. I guess everyone sold all their shit lol.

I think it's more that folks have got tired of being scammed. One guy in particular has become well known for ripping off a well known seller here. However, that one guy is not the only one trying to get one over on our valuable members.

This is really weird. I used to read VU regularly. And then I stopped getting emails notifying me of new posts. Nothing changed in my email provider nor in my settings with my email provider nor with VU.
I just assumed that VU went out of business.

Today, for the first time in well over a year I'll guess, I got an email from VU notifying me about a new post.
Glad to see it's still around. Now I'll catch up.
But, I'd love to figure out what happened

I doubt that. The same people scamming here are scamming at ECF and ECF classifieds haven't died down. I noticed that for the most part it's the same folks buying and selling here so I wasn't really kidding that much when I said I guess everyone sold all their shit. I actually sent a lot of people here and at ECF for the classies and I saw a serious uptick at ECF, still do because my links are still up. But they never want to participate in the forum because the forum format is pretty much dead. I'm a member of a lot of forums and they are all pretty much dead, some even closed up.

There are a lot of social media out there. Facebook is still popular but with the older crowd. But what it comes down to is smartphones and apps. People want convenient and fast communication in an app because most people don't even use PCs anymore. They use micro PCs which reside in their pockets (well actually in their hands 24/7 lol). So they need an app because using a website in a browser on a smartphone sucks ass and highly inconvenient. Websites can be slow and the forum format has now become foreign to most. When I posted links to the classies here and ECF on discord, lots of people were like "dude, I can't use that on my phone" or "how do even signup". lol Smartphones make people dumb.
