Any one heard of 'Smowell"?

Hi people. I just wondered if anyone had heard of this brand, as on the UK forums a few people have told me about them, as they are a steal.

Some have had them for 6 months and they still work. They are selling extremely cheap on gearbest.

It is a 50W, regulated box mod, that according to the UK vapers I speak to, does actually work to that wattage. And is also pretty solid.

And guess what? It costs TEN POUNDS.

That is basically pocket change, so today i am ordering one of these as even if it is a crappy mod, I got to own one of these £10 regulated mods.

I understand some people would have safety concerns, but the multiple people I have spoken to say it is great, you can take it out, and throw it about without worry due to its cost, and they work!

Due to the UK forum helping me find the 150TC for £10 less than other shops, they said why not get a smowell with the £10 saved? I asked what one was, and it went from there.

Thery sell them in silver, black, or blue. I am going to get a blue one, as I do not own a 50W mod, and also do not own a blue one. Even if the chip lasted for 2 months, I see that as amazing value, but people who have them note they do not break easily! I will 100% be using my nitecore charger on this and not the inbuilt USB, but some even use the USB charger with no problems.

I am not willing to go that risky. If I ever did, it would be inside a pyrex bowl, but that is just no.

Okay, found it. Cheap and reliable or not, no temperature control so it won't work for me. I already own a TON of mods without TC and have many backups if my TC mods ever fail me. Thanks for posting the info about it though, it is definitely cheap if someone is looking for a backup. Please keep us posted on your thoughts after you get it!

I have actually bought one, from the UK warehouse for a few extra pounds, to see what the fuss is about. If it actually works well, then I will be amazed, but I have been assured it really does work quite well.

If you bought this along with a subtank clone I got, you would have a whole vaping set up for around £30! I am not expecting much, but if it works OK, I will be super amazed, and have a set up that I will not worry about due to its cheapness.

Ahh fair enough. This will be my 6th regulated mod, 3 of which do TC, but I prefer standard kanthal in all honesty! I am a bit rare, I can appreciate TC, and do use it occasionally, as it is quite revolutionary, but use my devices in power mode most of the time. I can still afford the Sig 150 TC on the weekend too as I have found it £10 cheaper, so can still get that with a set of 25R's (I do have 4 25R's on the way, but they are taking their sweet time.)

If TC is your thing, there is a TC mod I got sent on the UK forum that is about £22. I do not know how well that works, but I will definitely keep you posted on this one.

Maybe a fortnight or so after this and the new sig, I will try they £22 TC device and tell you how it works.

Ok, that makes me glad to see one working and not just hearing about it. I am actually quite excited about this, I may even get it tomorrow as I bought it from the EU (UK) warehouse at 1PM.

It may not be powerful, but may be just what I want for walking about with a tank, producing little clouds of flavour. Even cheaper than the Sig 30 Mini, that broke on me after a few months, but after the repairs and reset, has not had a problem since.

(I usually use them out and about between 17-25 watts, so this should be perfect, and little).

I will let you know as soon as I receive it, put an 18650 in, and how it works. If it works bad I will be honesst, but if its good i will let you know as it might be just what you want, like me .

I will be using it in pure wattage mode, not mech mode (similarily the Sig 30 mini has a DC-DC mode, effectively making it a mech, but with the safety features of a regulated)

I have a question and please forgive me ignorance... While in mec mode, you said that it stays at a continuous 3.7v until the battery drains. I thought the way a mec mod works is as the battery power goes down, so does the wattage / volts. If it is using a fixed wattage and there is no fluctuation, would that still make it mec mode?

I have one, I use to use it as my work beater mod. It worked good. The 2 main negatives for me where:

1. You have to remove very tiny screws to change the battery. I don't think they will take to many cycles (in and out) before stripping. Because of this, I charged the 18650 in the mod.

2. If you carry it in your pocket be careful. More than once I put it in my pocket at between 15-20 watts and pulled it out at 50. The adjust buttons are very easily adjusted for lack of a better term.

I guess not really. Same as the sigelei minis DC-DC mode, its like a mech, but with a the protection of a regulated.

Thanks man. Glad to hear it works, I am using it as a beater mod/take out mod too. They recommended to me to use the USB charging aswell due to the screws, so I will charge that one in a pyrex bowl during the day only, and for 3-4 hours max just in case.

I am actually really looking forward to this mod as it is so cheap! If it works well, I am even going to buy a backup incase I break or lose the original,get it from china for ten pound/just over 17 dollars.

So, in a way there is no reason for people to be using mechs if a regulated can be had so cheaply, apart from enjoying mechs I guess. That is the only reason I have mine, plus I can repair it myself so in my lifetime i can always vape.
