I hear Mama Js has some great single mix flavors. Maybe you should grab a couple so you can have something to vape on while putting recipes together. Still a lot cheaper than premixed.
Edit: Cheap easy labels= Blue painters tape and a Sharpie

I suggest stick with all single flavors to start example cap apple pie,northwest pineapple Upsidedown cake (one of my favs), or 2 part mixes like raspberry fudge brownie (fw natural raspberry/ cap fudge brownie) also ecigexpress coupon for 10% off = Underground10

Everything is on its way. I will be making cereal killa, key lime cookie, and attempt to replicate my favorite house juice. I also ordered some bottles, syringes since I didn't order the scale yet, and some pre-made mix from mamaj. Out of the 3 places I ordered from mamaj was my favorite.

Is there a way to clean and reuse some of the bottles I already have left over?

And I am going to need that calculator we talked about. It would be awesome if they have one that keeps track of cost!

Thanks for all the help! I have only just begun.

Awesome dude!!! Congrats!!!!

I resuse my bottles, just wash them like normal then I boil some water and drop in the bottles.
With the plastic bottles I normally just wash and rinse really well to avoid melting the plastic.

I ordered some different size syringes, and a variety of bottles for mixing, and my pg/vg/nic from ECX. Flavors I got from mamaj, and bull city.

Lots of talented people here , and I would love to get into this DIY . But when I have the time ,I don't have the money . And when I have the money I don't have the time . I'm also afraid I would poison myself LOL. . But pretty soon I am going to really look into it , just got to find out where to start .

My vape mail came a day early! I already mixed up some mamaj's game over custard and it's really good. I just finished up some key lime cookie, but haven't tried it yet, letting it steep.

So, I'm going to order a scale. I don't have a blunt tip small enough to get in the flavoring bottles, and drops are a pita.

Also, my ejuiceme calculator isn't showing grams, any suggestions on how to fix it or should I try another calculator?

Are you using eJuice Me UP?

Yep. The gram column shows all zeros. Figure I need to fix that before scale comes in.

You need to point to TOOLS on the top left then select Gram Set. Enter your values and hit OK.

Ok, will give that a try. Thanks for all the help. Any suggestion on how to get the flavoring out of the bottles without a blunt tip needle?

I used medicine droppers or the dropper from a bottle, but your not measuring by weight. Sooo? Don't your flavoring bottles have drip tips?

Hmm? I'm confused. Most of my FA bottles( original and ECX re-bottled) will give me .02 grams per drop. Once you get your scale it will become so much easier. I need to get myself a better scale. sometimes mine won't read 1 or 2 drops. Looks like spend more money time for me.:mad:

When your scale comes in do yourself a favor and toss the batteries that come with it. The ones that came with mine were called camel toe or something to do with a camel and died right in the middle of a mix. My scale said LO for 1 sec and died.

Pull out the plunger and drip flavoring into open top.
Keep your little finger over the end to prevent it from dripping out.
Now stick that end into your empty bottle.
Re-insert the plunger.

Exactly how I use syringes although I use a cap on the needle end rather than my finger and pour into the bottle from the open end. ;)

Didn't bother to mention I've got a blunt tip needle on my syringe, just to avoid confusion for op.

The other advantage is I don't have to worry about contaminating my other flavors.
Or having to clean my syringe after every flavor.
Sometimes I even drip several flavors at a time into the same syringe to speed the process along.
For small amounts like 1% or less I just use the drops method directly into the bottle.

Then I use a 12ml plastic syringe, (same method), for VG & PG only.
Never really need to wash this one as the PG/VG keep it lubed up nicely, and it won't mold or anything.
Just rinse the needle and the outside off sometimes.
Used to wash it inside but the rubber would often freeze up for some reason and become impossible to use.
(Not mixing for anyone but myself BTW)

After all my flavorings are done, I measure my NIC in the same syringe to help rinse out any leftover flavorings.
Using a 1ml glass leur lock syringe for flavorings and NIC.
I just rinse it out in a glass of fresh water in between recipes.

My scale came in, I calibrated it and the measurements seem like a bit much.

NIC= 1.47
PG= 1.02
VG= 1.54
Flav= 1.60

Can anybody verify this? Based on what I found on the Web, my measurements seem high.

Here is a copy and paste from this thread: http://www.vapingunderground.com/threads/guide-to-mixing-by-weight.22891/

The basic values that you need to know for mixing by weight are below.

Weight of PG: 1.038 grams per ml
Weight of VG: 1.26 grams per ml
Weight of Pure Nicotine: 1.01 grams per ml
Weight of 100mg in PG: 1.0352 grams per ml
Weight of 100mg in VG: 1.235 grams per ml

If you have a mix of Nicotine that is not 100mg the calculation is fairly simple:

48mg VG based nicotine solution. That's 4.8% nicotine in VG. Let's just pretend we have 100ml as it's easier than dealing with a lot of decimal points. The total weight of nicotine in this solution would be 1.01 x 4.8 = 4.848g. Add in the other 95.2ml of VG and you have 1.26 x 95.2 = 119.952g. Add the two together, and you get 124.8 grams in 100ml solution or 1.248 grams per ml. The same can be done for any nicotine base or solution if it isn't shipped to you with an MSDS or you no longer have it.

When it comes to flavors, there are a couple of thoughts/theories surrounding mixing by weight when dealing with flavors. Many people enter the specific gravity as indicated on an MSDS for every flavor that they have. I feel this is a complete waste of time. After searching hundreds of MSDS sheets for flavors, all flavors fall into a range of .93g per ml to 1.07g per ml.

In order to achieve personal consistency for your juices though, all that is relevant is that you use the SAME value, every time for any given flavor. I simply use a value of 1. This means that whether or not my flavors actually weigh 1 gram per ml, I always pretend they do. Percentages in any given recipe of mine will always be the exact same for me, however, if I am trying to recreate someone elses recipe, or they are mixing mine, there's a chance I'll be off a little bit (no more than 7% which is about the margin of error most people get when mixing by volume).

I have never actually weighed all my ingredients separately my-self and just went off the list above. Even if it is wrong I am just looking to have consistencies in my mixes so that it is the same when I mix another batch. I thought about weighing each ingredient to get more precise but then I thought if I bought a different vendors VG would I double check the weight? More than likely not so I didn't want to go through the trouble and there was no way I was weighing all my different flavors.

As mentioned in the cut and paste above there is a chance you will be off if trying someone elses recipes but even if your measure all your ingredients and they don't then you will be off that way as well. It would actually be a good idea to do a benchmark weight that everyone uses so that there is consistency not only in our own recipes but every recipe we share as well, if it is all the same we will all get the same results.
