Sig 150 tc and setting the ohm

Just a quick question. I have a Sig 150 tc and have noticed the following. When setting the ohms on TC mode, I set it by pressing < & > simultaneously. The mod reads the coil ohms. If I press the buttons again, it will read the ohms significantly lower than what it just read in the last set. example first read .368, second read .212. in both cases, the tank was at room temp and no fires between readings. Is this normal and what causes the difference in readings.

I'm not sure if it is normal or not. I have noticed the same thing with my IPV D2 though. I have found that if I set it the first time and it is near the expected range, I just leave it alone and it seems fine. It may be a function of how the TC works, but not sure. BTW ... the D2 is the first mod I've owned that actually requires you to set the resistance, so I don't have any previous experience with it or how it is supposed to work. My other TC mods before it would auto read the coil, no "lock in" required.

I have the same mod and same problem locking in resistance. Always have to do it twice. No clue why. I'll be watching the thread hoping for an answer though

What tank are you using? Since my last reply I have found that the problem (on my D2) ONLY exists with my Kanger Subtank Mini, none of my other tanks. Maybe it is tank related (and maybe not)?

I find my subtank to be a bitch also and I've noticed that they started selling new bases on line so I GUESS it's a problem Kanger fixed. I think that they were made when 0.5 ohms and power mode was all there was. I have to clean the coil base, the pin inside the base. the 510 connector both on the tank and the mod to get 0.15 ohms. Works fine when I get it right.

I think I'm about done with the ST mini ... just need to find an affordable alternative to replace it. I don't have time to rip apart and clean every connection point on a tank to make it work like it should!

To the first poster. With coils not having a sensor built in, TC works off a programmed truth table and needs the base resistance set so the chip knows what to do. At sub-ohm resistance anything can muck it up. I build my RDA's at 0.07 to 0.09 ohms and find that after a few heating and cooling cycles I sometimes need to snug up the coil hold down screws to keep it vaping strong. In a cool room (60ish) you can check the resistance then blow on the coil a few times and the resistance changes a fair bit. Try it it's kinda fun to see how hot you are. haha

I'd suggest getting a Q-tip and cleaning all the contact points first. A pencil eraser works wonders also, that's what a lot of us use to clean the contacts on computer boards. I've seen those same readings with my subtank but after a cleaning it reads a solid 0.147 to 0.15 on any mod i try it on.

100% with you on that one. That's why when I do get it right I leave the tank on until I need to change the coil. I have enough stuff that when I tank it I can leave it on a mod for a week or so. That's why I use RDA's they have there own problems but what doesn't. I see it as any relationship, explore until you find what you love quirks and all.

I noticed the same thing in the cold environment. I will try the cleaning advise. you never know.

Hmmm ... don't have one of those, can't do any comparison or testing to help out. Hopefully the cleaning info will do the trick. How do you like that tank?

It is a pretty decent tank. In the TC mode, it has great flavor and produces nice clouds. I am probably a chain vapor still as I have only been vapn for 2 months after 20 years of cigarettes. I haven't got a dry hit yet though. Need to reduce the VG a little on my mix. I have been mixing 70/30. Even with the 6 holes around the coil, the mix is a little thick to refill as quickly as I want to vape. I actually like the Horizon Arctic more but have been using the Elite because of the Nic coils it came with, trying out TC mode & cant get Arctic coils in nic yet. The Arctic just has tons of flavor. I run the Mutation xv4 on the sig when I get home. that takes flavor & clouds to a whole new level. Just wish the wells were a little deeper.
