Hi Vaping Underground, I've been a lurker for awhile but I finally made an account to ask about SS coils. So I bought a Uwell Crown tank and it comes with a Ni 200 coil as well as 2 SS coils. I've never vaped Ni or SS coils before but I have ordered an IVP 4S and am just wondering what temperatures can I vape the coils at? I'm used to Kanthal and I'd normally vape between 20-80 watts, how does this transfer over to temperature control?
Do SS coils use the same watts as Kanthal? And for Ni I know I need temperature control, what Jules or w/e should I vape it at? Thanks guys, sorry for this noob question I just want to be safe when it comes to new coils!

You should get a .5, .25, & a .15ni coil. I vape the .5 @ 50-60watts. The .25 requires a bit more. Start at a lower wattage & raise it up gradually until you find the vape you're looking for. Congrats on getting a great freaking tank, & the Ipv4 as well.

Hey thanks Hank! Will I be fine vaping high vg juice while using the Crown without getting dry hits? I haven't actually received it yet but heard it's possibly the best sub ohm tank on the market.

I made some 80% VG juice - vapes perfectly in the crown on all the coils I've tried so far!

Thanks for your response Amanda, how many watts are you running the coils at? Or are you using a mech mod?

I vape max VG all day every day. No problems what so ever

You guys have me so excited to try out the Crown! I'm using an isub G right now and I bought the .2 ohm coils.. Biggest mistake ever! I cannot inhale for more than 2 seconds without getting a dry hit with my max VG midnight oil donkey punch ejuice. How's the flavor on the Crown? And which coils do you get the most flavor from, the Ni 200?

I'm waiting for those coils to arrive! I find with the other coils the flavor doesn't pop until it gets pretty high:D

What flavors do you like to use for high watts? I've heard custards are great for the 60-100 watt range but haven't had much experience with them.

Actually I think the 0.25 coils give the best flavor.
@Towelman yes custards are great at high watts, but I tend to make bakery/fruit flavors more often.

It's freaking fantastic. I can't do straight ni200. I did for a bit, but I had to stop. The flavor in the ss coils is as good or better than the nickel from what I remember (of the nickel)

Very awesome I'm a bakery/fruit flavor lover myself, just kinda worried that 6mg of nicotine is going to be too harsh, I'll probably have to drop down to 3mg.

So here's my question, do SS coils and Kanthal coils need the same heat? If I use 60 watts for a Kanthal coil with the same ohms as a SS coil, will I need to raise/lower the watts to produce the same clouds/flavor as the Kanthal?

you will definitely need to drop to 3mg, or at least i know i would (presently at 2mg). As far as kanthal vs SS watt levels, im not sure, but the crown coils only come in SS. Which is a good thing, SS tastes sooooo damn good.

I have the snowwolf 200w limited edition works awesome, but definitely need a tank currently using rda not bad though but the uwell crown is in my shopping list.

Just got my SS a few days ago and I must say better than kanthal by far. Cleaner tasting and faster heating are the 2 biggest factors I have found to date.

Yeah, I'm sold on stainless. Now what to do with all this kanthal I got lying around? The Crown tank is leaps and bounds over all my other tanks!

Any of you guys know of some good drip tips that can fit on the crown? I like the airflow but the drip tip is getting so damn hot!
