Resistance too high?

I just build a 24g khantal dual coil 10 wraps. Is the resistance too high? Most of my builds are above 1ohm. Why can't I get a low ohm builds? Any tips or probs with my build?

That's very odd. I could see a single 24g at around 10 wraps coming out to an ohm, give or take .2. But two should be closer to .4-.6, depending on the diameter. 1.2 is way above what it should be.

The only thing I can think of is one of those coils isn't making much of a connection at all, or both are making bad connections. Either that, or the 510 pin isn't making good contact somewhere. How do the coils look when you fire them without cotton or juice?

It's glows evenly. I'm trying to get a less than .5 ohm build but I cant

This dual coil build is 8 wraps of 24g on a 3mm bit coming in at .27 ohms...vapes great at 75w or so..
10 wraps seems a little much to shoot below .5.... just sayin

Are you sure that's 24g?? To me it looks like 26g maybe.. 10 wraps of 24g would be longer in length I would think..

I bought it from a random shop and it says 24 but I'm not sure. Okay thanks!

Anytime!
BTW, another favorite build I like is dual parallel 26g kanthel ..5 wraps on a 3mm bit comes in at .22 ohms..it's a build I like when I'm out of my 24g nichrome...

26 gauge is on par with your specs... and it looks like 26. Reduce your wraps to 6 or 7 and try again.

I've tried before 8 and 7 wraps and even 5. They're all above 1ohm

7 should give you .5 ohms. Either you have a connection issue or the built in ohm meter is failing... do you have a decent multimeter?

Nope. If the built in ohm meter is failing what should I do? Anything I can do?

I apologize, my math was wrong. I factored a 1mm diameter. hold on...

No, that's right. single coil you'd only need 4 wraps (assuming it's 26 gauge). Have you tried just one coil? If not, test on each negative post. Are the posts loose? Is it a clone?

First of all if your going to build you need a separate ohm meter.. Especially for safety testing your builds before you ever screw them down on any mod..
A accurate ohm meter is a must, and can be had for like $20-$25..
It will help trouble shoot problems with your build too, like a loose wire, or a short..

I was shooting for a .2 ohm build and you can see it came in at .17...My IPV3 can fire down to .1 so .17 was good enough... But I would have best lost without the ohm meter...never build without one, and study up on ohm's law..saftey first.

If it reads the same on other mods then it has to be your RDA. I'd try a single coil, 4 wraps, and see what that reads. Otherwise, I don't know unless it's a connection issue. Hopefully someone else can provide insight.
