I know its likely somewhere on these forums but for some reason using tapatalk i get no search found no matter what i type..so heres the question, can i steep my diy juice using steam?i have a baby bottle steamer/sanitizer which is about as simple as it gets..the more water you pour onto hot plate the hotter it gets and vice versa, so i cam control the temperture and it also has racks inside which could fit tons of bottles of juice..is this a viable method of steeping?

I don't recommend doing that, think about it, would you do that to a fine bottle of wine, most good juices are very complex and separate when heated.

That's true, I buy my juice and stick it and a draw for a week or two, shake it at least a couple of times a day and keep the bottle on it's side.

Yea once i get a good solid enjoyable recipe the quick steep method will be a thing of the past, i wont mind the wait so much but as of now these crown tanks im using ill have to start selling limbs to keep up with the cost of shop juice..just got a sizeable order of flavors in yesturday so with any luck things will shape up sooner then later on the recipe side of things

Gotta love the Crown, good luck with the juice, check out Mt. Baker for good juice prices.

I occasionally put my glass bottles in a crockpot on the lowest temp with the lid cracked, which gives me a temp of around 150F. Four hours for many juices works well . I've left custards accidentally overnight, and they came out well!

There's a long thread about this on the other forum. Tests were done to check for nic loss, and there was none.

People use heat around 150 degrees for speed steeping, all the time. Several people tested this method quite a while back, including myself. There is no degradation of the nic at this temp after 4, and even 8 hours. Mine got heated to 170, but typically, people will go to 150. Steeped in glass bottles.

a bottle warmer would work, its really all about heating it up some. the thing i would worry about with plastic is it may let off some kind of toxin from the heated plastic into your juice,

Lol! So in theory my steamer i have should b a viable speed steeping method for the time being so as long i stay within the general temp range of 150°?

Yes, it's being controlled at the temperature. Use glass bottles, and keep it at or below 150. I used a nic test kit from Wizard Labs, can be purchased from other vendors, too. After the speed steep, let it come to room temp. Flavors were nicely blended and even more so the next day. I'll admit I don't use this method much anymore, but if I'm making lots of samples I want to try, it's a tried and true method.

Yea good point as well..i havnt actually used any "good" juice in it, just a couple bottles i made a disaster recipe of just to basically see if things got to hot, went south quickly kind of thing lol i do have glass bottles on hand ready but..being new to diy im still shy of finding a good vape/flavor i can call my own right now so they me on the bench for some time still

You'll get there. I made other people's recipes, which helped me learn more about my flavors. I still make other people's stuff more than I do my own.

Yea will definetly take some tinkering, im in a small town in canada so 30ml at a local shop is about 20$ and to order anything im almost better off having bought local by the time shipping is added in to begin with so diy juice is a must now that vaping is ever more so becoming a hobby now then anything..thanks for the thoughts everyone appreciate it!
