I tried the first thing you mentioned, no luck, I'll try the screw driver ideaOUCH! I'm sorry to see that!
If there is enough of the connector sticking up/out, you may be able to get a pair of pliers and twist it out. If there is not, then it may be possible to use a screwdriver to "catch" a rough edge and give you enough leverage to back out the connector a little until you can grip it with pliers and twist it all the way out. If that doesn't work either, then it's possible you could use a dremel to cut a little groove in the center of the broken pin and use a screwdriver to get it out.
Hopefully someone will come along and have some more ideas if none of those work for you!

You need whats called an Easyout and a drill any hardware store has it..some may even get it out for ya since you are a LadyAnd the tank screw snapped off inside the 510 connection Is it ruined now??
I don't dare try to pry around with it.....
