"Your shipment was sent on September 29th. It looks like tracking process has stalled. Could you call your post office as they will not allow us to open a case on your shipment, oddly enough. Usually when you call it will start moving again. USPS can be a real pain sometimes. As you can see with tracking updates that it is in their hands. We will keep any eye on it and if we don't see progress after you call, we can put a claim in and just send you out a new item and a return label if for some reason the original shipment shows up. Sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately USPS operations are out of our control. We get the shipments to them on time and like any shipment we assume it will make it to the customers..."

I asked them what's up with my order and this what they sent back? I get tons of vape Mail and this seems sort of fishy to me....

Looks legit to me. I had a package stalled in LA. I called USPS about two weeks in (forgot about that package) and reported the missing package. A guy from my local USPS called me the next day, got the tracking info and emailed the LA office several times. I finally received the package almost two months later.
However, if your package is send on the East Coast, there might have been a delay, due to the Hurricane.

Ah gotcha, I am on the east coast, so how do I go about fixing this?

Usually it is the vendor who sends out the product that contacts usps. Just sayin. With that said just bring a copy of your usps tracking ( a print copy) and head to your local office.

They said they're not "allowed" to and that I have to call....

Can't wait to see how this pans out lol. If it's not good I'll be posting the vape site, but as of now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and see what happens.

many people are just ignorant of the actual rules.I myself am semi ignorant on them all.
but in my experience

for all shippers the sender should initiate requests, since they paid for the delivery service, but often times the receiver calling will trigger something happening

Call either the 24/7 or your local USPS, and report the missing package. The guy at my local put a lot of time and effort in it to get my package delivered. He even called me to find out if there had been any progress.
But since you are on the East Cost, it's highly possible that it got delayed due to the Hurricane.

It's a legit site so I'm curious as to the conclusion of this.

What's the 24/7 number? Can't seem to locate it, might as well call now since I'll be up watching the Yankee game lol

It's actually true about the vendor not being able to initiate a claim. I work for a company that mails out a decent chuck of change a day. We are allowed to check the progress of a package but we are not allowed to call USPS regarding the package.

It has to do with the pacage being the customer's the moment it's scanned, and also to prevent mail fraud.

Maybe as a private shipper, person to person. But we as company are not able too. We use the whole spectrum of USPS services and it's the same with each one. We do have a direct account with the USPS though, and don't use a third party vendor like stamps.com, so that could be why as well.

I know one of the main reasons is to prevent fraud. It would be easy for me to print up a bs label with insurance for 500 dollars, have it get "lost" and call and claim it my self. That's why they want the person receiving the package file a claim instead.

honestly after just dealing with a huge mess with UPS and a supposedly lost package, this makes no sense to me. I too have a USPS account. if I make up a label with $500 insurance I can not make it get lost. There are ways to try and get it lost but before they pay their will be an investigation and it will be found. You really need an inside man for that situation to work reliably. ANd if it does get lost the SENDER not the RECEIVER gets paid so the sender has to file the claim

I know about the investigation aspect. We just concluded one where a lady gave use the wrong address and want able to be dilivered and had not moved for week from a random post office.
And honestly I wouldn't know why but that's just what if been told about not being able to initiate the claim on parcel. I do believe either party should be able too, but alas, I nor the company work for are able to with usps

Let me help a lot of you out, on this topic.

#1 Yes, the weather could be a huge factor. But that will depend on where you live EXACTLY. Because there are massive numbers of trucks delivering on the eastern seaboard as we speak. But there are some areas that have been delayed.

#2 Unless they're a very small vendor. They ship QUANITY out daily. Think 100's of packages. And while its easy for them to say it shipped (and it probably did), they can't confirm it left the original truck. Only the USPS can do this.

Frustrating for sure. But give the vendor the benefit of the doubt. USPS is not the best manner of shipping something. But it's still the cheapest.

Hahaha For some reason when I place an order, anything sent FedEx or UPS goes to the guy 2 blocks over. Every time!

I'm just glad I have good neighbors. He always either calls, or brings it to me.
