This is my first time trying my hand at DIY juice...I would just like some input on what I have ready to order...any hints and tips are greatly appreciated.
This is what I have ready to order...
An american weight scales lb-501 digital kitchen scale
1 gallon VG and 1 gallon PG from essential depot.
120ml vg based 100mg nic from vapers tek.
30ml ldpe (polyethylene) narrow drip tip bottle
2 8oz drop dispenser bottles for vg and pg
1 4oz drop dispenser bottle for nic
5 120ml bottles for when I find juice/juices that I like, I can make a larger amount.
Pipettes

All flavors that I am ordering are the exact flavors that I found being used in a few recipes here. Any experienced DIY'ers feel like I should modify my list, please let me know...
Thanks in advance

well the only concern I have is what vg/pg ratio are you aiming for and what nic level? that can be effected by your nic base. for example if you want 90vg and your using flavors that add up to 10% or more, then pure pg nic makes that impossible. Aiming for 80vg with 100% PG nic is possible but can be difficult if your mixing to 24mg

I make max vg so I never have issue using 100%vg nic, but I find its easier to order you nic in 100% of what ever teh majority of your mix will be.

others may disagree

I originally wanted to do max vg since I usually drip, but after reading that flavors take longer to blend, and some say they have to modify the percentages of flavors, I figured 80/20 vg/pg would be a good mix to aim for...as far as my nic mg, I'm going for 3mg as that is what I am vaping...

You need to go higher on the Nic %'s. Don't forget, you'll be cutting it with other liquids. your better off with 18 or 36 in 100% VG.
EDIT: It's cheaper in the long run if you go higher on your Nic base. I use 18 but also started using 36. So now I cut the amount of Nic base I use in half. I vape 2mg.

I did read up on mixing by weight...I assumed that using the syringe would be easier...Picking up a scale is no problem, the scale that I currently have is unable to disable the automatic shutoff
Me personally. I probably wouldn't be mixing now if I had to do the clean up/syringe thing. Take some time and read though that thread.

so raise my nic mg from 3mg to 18?

Im going to take the scale route..I was worried about the weights of the different liquids, but that thread has all the information needed...thanks for pointing that thread out to me

the different specific gravities is not an issue normally

many calculators will let you inputthe specific gravity of a each flavor.
vg and pg SP is already built into most calculators.

But if you look up lists of SP for flavors you will see MOST are all around 1.
so many people will just use 1 for all flavors it just makes things simple and accurate enough.

You could also just get 60ml of 100mg NIC Base and cut it to 50mg easily.
Just dump it into your empty 120ml bottle and fill the rest up with PG or VG...
After mixing well, pour half back into the original 60ml NIC bottle and put it in the freezer.
Only because 100mg is normally more economical to buy long term.
