So I finally got around to trying the watermelon mix I made last Saturday and here are the results! This is using TFA watermelon at 20% and 25%

20%
pretty good.
Good flavor but don't stick around in my mouth to long like a store bought black cherry did.
Decent cloud size at 50/50.
I vaped a whole tank at work today and I dig it but I doubt I'll make a pure watermelon again.
I may keep one of these in my car as my back up juice as o forgot mine today and barley made it home on one tank haha

25 %
may have over done it a bit here.
I can really taste the watermelon and it's strong maybe a bit to strong.
decent clouds again.
I've only vaped a 1/4 of a tank so far but I like it but definitely won't be making another 25% watermelon again haha

I'm never going to buy store bought again as this was super easy! Currently adding flavors to my list to try some recipes I found online like chocolate eclair, and something with banana in it!

I also may not have bought enough VG in my first order (120ml) and I used half of it in 4 30ml bottles! (My nic is pg based so I use 15ml a bottle of VG haha)

What do you remember about your first DIY e juice!? Was it good or bad!?

May look into other flavoring to make the watermelon to come out. That 20% is extreme imo.

On to your question, first couple were not so great, lots down the drain until I found found the "Tribeca clone" which tastes nothing like Tribeca but I loved it.

Still vaping my first DIY :) It's my ADV, and a clone of a past flavor I liked.

But those % you're using wow! I don't do watermelon, so I'm not familiar with what's needed to flavor. I've never had a finished DIY with more than 5% of an flavor. Although I have tried ;)

dekang tobacco at 5%. it was better than the sparse selection of tobacco flavored juices from my local vape stores, and a hell of a lot cheaper!

My first diy was a copy of mount baker vapor's thug juice. It's only one flavor and some menthol. I still vape it daily. Flavor West 'Jungle Juice' is the flavoring used. Diy is great. I'll never buy vendor juice again.

Never say never lol

I'm always leaving the house without something, or not enough of something. And then I have to stop at the closet shop I can find.

I firmly believe every store should keep a jar of KY on the counter. Just to make it easier for the out of towners.

My first DIY experience was a total failure. It was all LorAnn's and made me quit DIY forever. Feh! 'Pit it out!

However, forever is a really long time and that was about five years ago. Since then, I've hooked up at VU, picked the brains of the Mix Masters here and am once again making e-liquids. This time, it's much better and a pleasant, tasty experience!

Important thing is, you liked it. :)

I make some juice for family. And I give some away to co-workers in a pinch. But, the vast majority is for me.

Even if it taste like horse piss to someone else. I'm keeping my money, vaping my juice. When I don't forget to bring enough. lol

I liked it but will not be making it again most likely haha i have some more flavors coming in to try some bannana mixes i found on a site.

My coworker asked how much id want for it and i said i dont want anything for a bottle. im not getting into DIY juice to make money just save it haha

I just spent 25 dollors on 120ml of vg and 6 8ml flavors ( to make 2 diffrent mixes) and it can make ~5 bottles with 8ml of each juice. At the local vape shop i go to its 15 per 30ml of their juice and i just bought the ritual vivo at $16 for a 30ml ( with a 25% discount cause the dude is awesome and i know him haha i wouldnt expect him to ever do it again but it was nice of him) which is about $20+ so i can 5 bottles for 25 vs 2 for 30 of the house mix. Seems like a smart thing to do haha

Once i find a mix i really like and want to make it my all day vaoe itll be even cheaper!

Its all just trial and error atm xD I also need to find a shake and vape flavor i like that way i can vape that while the others steep! So much expermtation and i love it haha

And i feel you on the vape it either way cause the mix i made is good but isnt really an all day vape and yet im vaping it dam near non stop cause fuckil it im not wasting money and buying a load of store bought jucies when i have 3 bottles of perfectly good juice! Though im currently burning through the ritual vivo i just bought cause this stuff is freaking amazing xD

My first few were one flavor only tries (orange creamsicle, apple pie,and fruit punch).I figured I couldn't mess that up too badly;if it was too strong just add a bit more vg,too light just add a few more drops flavoring. The 25% thing may be more from company you bought from. Everyone else seems to think this is a bit high, but I know my juices run around 15%.I use TFA,from heartland vapes. Maybe the others(flavor west ,capella's, etc.) are more concentrated. I'd say whatever strength tastes right for you go with it. I'm with you one one thing though; I haven't bought premade juice in almost a year, since I started DIYing. :D p.s I make a pretty good rainbow sherbert with orange lime and rasberry if you want to give it a try I'll post my recipe :D:D

I bought from BCV and it was original bottle but i tend to like my flavors stronger it seems haha i tried a B&M flavor called OG that has a few diffrent flavors mixed togather and its STRONG and i love it haha

If i do decide to buy premade juices itll most likely be the Vivo as i vaped dam dear 3 tanks since getting it 8 hrs ago hahaha

And that sounds amazing haha if you dont mind i would love to try that :D

(These are all tfa flavorings) I mix 9% orange creme,2.8% raspberry,1.2%whipped creme, 1%key lime, and .8%vanilla. I've had a few ppl try it and they seemed to like it. It's also good to vape right when your done mixing. I've even bought peppermint in the hopes that some day i'll throw a couple of drops in to see if I can get a cooling sensation out of the vape(making it feel like sherbert),without it spoiling the flavor.

I just started making my own juice about two weeks ago. My first mix tasted like wet dog. Not even joking. It tasted exactly like how wet dog smells even after letting it sit for two days. I was attempting an apple and fruit kind of deal. FA apple and Forest Fruit, Capella cake batter, some FA Milk and a tiny bit of FA Smooth. I almost threw it out but I left it for about another 4 days and decided to try it again. It's now amazing and I've been vaping it for the past two days straight. I, of course, can't remember the percentages but I hope I can at least kind of recreate it once this bottle is gone. I learned my lesson and will now take notes next time I make anything...

I've vaped a lot of crappy mistakes mainly because I'm too cheap to throw things away. That said even I have my limits, there's been more than a few bottles dumped down the drain I've made that I couldn't handle. Persistence persistence persistence. Just keep with it, keep taking notes and keep practicing. I've been doing this about a year now and up until about the past two months I had plenty of mixes that were ok or that I liked, but none I wanted to keep making and really loved. I just cracked down and made myself get really methodical with what I do paying attention to everything. What works, what doesn't etc..

Also, maybe this is weird, but whenever I get an idea for a recipe lately I'll actually look at different food recipes. For instance, the other day I wanted to try an apple pie mix. I looked at different recipes for apple pie (the food) and what was in them. Then I did my best to try and translate those recipes into percentages for juice flavors and mixed away. I have to say I was quite impressed with the results. (my wife's quote "usually I hate everything you make but this is really good")..... she's so uplifting lol. Actually whats funny is we have totally different tastes. Even the store bought stuff. I remember days getting a juice I went nuts over and thought was amazing only to take it home and have her cringe after tasting it.

Just keep practicing!! You'll get it.

It's not uncommon for juciers (if I may) to look to food recipes for inspiration, lownote2, or guidance with regard to ingredients. I've been checking out mincemeat recipes lately, hoping ti have somethin workable by Thanksgiving.

Just made a strawberry banana mix that is steeping and something called banana dream which the guy said was good right away but vetter after a week or 2 of steeping.

It seems like its a cool site for recipies

Awesome to see you diving in and enjoying it. It's an enjoyable hobby. Not to mention it's nice knowing that you're the one that made it.

The food recipe idea is great! I'd never have thought of that. Now to just make another order for some more flavors...

I started this as a way to get off "anolog sticks" (i keep seeing that word thrown around and i like it haha) but its slowly becoming more than just that xD

But yea im enjoying mixing jucies quite alot seeing as i suck at most things that take pacients and some skill but this interest me so we'll see how far it goes haha im looking into getting a clone rda to test my flavors and to make my tank just a work tank as in replaceing the coils quite often
