Dear Mark Zuckerberg & the Facebook team,
The United Nations projects that a billion people will die from smoking this century. That is nearly everyone in the United States & Europe.
Dead.
There is rampant corruption taking place that is helping make this happen. They are motivated by cigarette taxes, pharmaceutical sales, grant money, & power. Now it appears that you are standing with these corrupt forces.
Would you like to see a billion people die?
Your mission statement says:
“Facebook’s mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.”
We are making a film to help people discover what’s going on in the world. We’re trying to use Facebook to make the world more open, to stay connected, and to give people the power to share what matters most to them...a way to save the lives of their families, friends, and themselves.
Your platform already discriminates against pages that don’t pay to boost Facebook posts. Consequently, our posts are seen by very few people when we don’t pay, despite having thousands of supporters looking for our updates. Now you are removing our ability to promote posts too.
You call our film a tobacco product, yet we are trying to help people quit. You promise to make the world more open, but you are closing it off.
We call on you to end your ongoing censorship of our film, and to allow advocates for a smoke free world to share information and connect with each other. Every post with the word vaper, vape, or vaping should not be automatically censored. Your reviewers should pay attention to those of us that ask for clarification, not tell us “The decision is final.” Every time you censor us or others with a similar message, you are protecting the status quo: a billion people dying from smoking.
A war has started. It’s time to choose a side.

They are our goverment officals....recently Zuckenberg got caught with a hot mike..he was with Angela Merkel the Chancellor of Germany, they were both caught talking together when they thought their microphones were dead.....Zuckenberg agreed with a request from Merkel to censor anybody in Germany on facebook who spoke out against the invasion of Germany by the recent flood of muslims.
Google has conspired with the Chinese goverment to censor all refrences to Tianman square massacre, the freedom movment, and the invasion and conquest of Tibet.

It'a not about gleaning information...it's about Zuckenberg/goverment supressing a tool for organizing politcal actions...demonstrations, meetings.flash mobs.
I'm not one to go the uber conspiracy route too easily, specially with no proof. IMO this is much more about legal safety for the company. FB must have been fairly close to 50/50 on their original decision to have a look at it or they wouldn't have allowed the add after we complained. In the end though they can do whatever they want with their site, it is their site. It's also up to us if we want to use it though and they know that

I hear ya pulsevape and I agree. We need to be vigilant and oppose that shit when we can.
But what does this have to with the situation this thread is about? Facebook isn't part of the military and is not industrial. It's a social media site that anyone can chose to use or not as they wish with no consequence to their lives.

Legally yes, because politicians who hold stock in the big pharma companies making the 7% effective NRT have said they are. But when you consider the billions of dollars stolen from smokers with the promise of helping them but only going to further protect and line corporate pockets I don't think "morally" enters into that equation.

the point isn't whether or not it is his tool...it's what is he using his tool to do, and why is he doing it in secret, just because someone has alot of money, it doesn't give them the legal right to use that money to influence a democraticly elected goverment..we have laws about that..........I understand that sociopaths like Merkel and Zuckenberg exist, they always have existed in history and regardless of whatever social enginerring nightmare is imposed upon people, sociopaths will arise in every generation and will have to be battled in every generation.....my point is Zuckenberg should not be allowed to pose as some begnin harmless bussinessman trying to offer a legitamate service to the market for a profit....rather he should be exposed under a very bright light as someone who behind closed doors and in secret is conspiring to manufacture a lie and deciet to sell to the citizens. a lie that will strip the people of a goverment of self determintion and freedom and put in it's place a goverment controled by a handfull of elite.
Indeed we do have a law about rich people using their money to influence government - it's in a Supreme Court ruling called Citizens United, where they decided it's perfectly legal.
What worries me most about that brain drain of a website is that they're now using plug-ins to bring the news into the site in order to prevent users from actually visiting an independent news site - for people too naive to look anywhere else than their "feed" to be told what to think, they're soon only going to be consuming the news ol' Zuck and his advertisers want them to consume.

I use Citizens United as the biggest and most easily understood example, but I certainly stop short of saying it's the only example of the rich and powerful corrupting our government and society. Do you want to talk about corporate welfare built into the farms bill, about taxpayers subsidizing low-wage employers when their employees work full time and still rely on public benefits, about American companies holding cash abroad in order to pay taxes they owe and lobbying for special deals wherein they'll bring the money home but only if they get a tax break, even though they've done this before and promised it wouldn't happen again?
It's disgusting, it's reprehensible, and both of the ruling parties are working with equal zeal to sell the soul of America and decimate the middle class. I don't see how plainly stating the facts as I see them is something to be embarrassed by, nor how things will change as long as 85-90% of the country is focused on ravaging the slights of one ruling party while turning a blind eye to the sins of the group they favor.
