Help with batteries for series mod

I've got a series box ordered from Smoke Stack Modz. While I wait for it I just want to make sure I have proper batteries for it. I currently have 2 pairs of 25r's that are "married" which I use in both my parallel box and my IPV3 LI. Will these suffice in a series mod with a .28 build? Not saying I will build that low, but would like to do so for those nice clouds when chasing with friends. Besides, for some reason even when I follow the cloud.box app directions (use it for getting number of wraps) I usually end up about .05 higher. Anyways, calculations say that at .28 ohms, given 8.4 volts max, it will draw 30 amps. I know that I will not see 8.4v to the coil due to voltage drop, even though I opted for dual mosfets, but would rather make sure I have batteries safe enough for the full power. I've googled and searched the forum but can't find a straight answer.

TL;DR, will Samsung 25r's work on a series box at .28 ohms?

I believe that the 25'rs only do 20-25amp continuous

You are forgetting to calculate the voltage drop across the coil when fired. I run a parallel series box at "8.4 volts" but at .12 ohms, it's actually firing at about 6.5 volts. I run samsung 25r2s and 25r5s with absolutely no issues. You're actually gonna draw about 20.7 amps give or take. And remember, 20 amp rating of your batteries is CONTINUOUS. You will never run them continuous on purpose. The 5-6 second pulse rating of your batteries is well over 30 amps. A .28 ohm build will be fine.

This is exactly what I needed to know. I added a second mosfet to help with voltage drop (read somewhere that dual mosfets does so, can't remember where) and to be honest, the extra $5 for added peace of mind was worth it. Am I good using the two sets of 25r2's I currently use in my parallel box and IPV3? Or should I get a couple sets specifically for the series box?

I would get dedicated sets for the series, if it were me. My opinion.
