So to sum this up, my Sigelei 150W is starting to shit out on me. The batteries won't make of a good connection to the device, and it isn't the batteries. Here's the email I sent to them

To whom it may concern,

I purchased a Sigelei 150W on May 23rd, 2015 and loved it. Never had problems. Now, I'm having problems with it. The batteries won't make a good connection. I bought it the the vape shop where I bought it, and they looked and found the the wires looked burnt. I've attached two pictures below. One of the wire and one of the receipt. Is there anything you can do?

You can get a new one for $58.49 from 101Vape using the coupon code SIG10 at checkout . Might be cheaper than getting it repaired if it isn't still under warranty. Good luck!

Cheers,
Steve

Edit. I just checked, the code works, would be $61.48 shipped. They offer free Priority Mail shipping if you spend $75.00

Looks to me like you had some eJuice seeping into the mod. That wouldn't be included in the warranty.

Not being a smart ass, but would juice inside a mod really cause it to maybe short out? I mean I thought juice was non-conductive, but I could be wrong..

I have always had good luck with Sigelei APVs.

I like the way they work and the way they are built and I have a good overall feeling about the company.

That being said, I am EXTREMELY interested in hearing what in the way of a response you will received from them and when you receive it!

I had an older, can't remember the name, that shorted from juice. That was before I learned about cleaning them. It was an old vv/vw device.

you are right about that, juice is non conductive

what looks like juice inside his mod is most likely the resin coating from soldering

I have some contact cleaner I considered using on the switch. It works on clock radio switches and my bass guitar knows to clean corrosion.

Sometimes I think companies do this out of convenience for their profit margin. I may not know all the facts but it is suspicious, at least to me.

No I did not. It's working fine as of now. Fingers crossed.

Most of the banned stores are the cheapest vendors on the web!
Vapor beast is listed as official distributor, you all know vapor beast is one of the most expensive vendors and it takes a long time for them to go on sale, unlike the others!

Waiting for Ford and GM to tell us if we buy a new car from xxx dealership are warranty is void. Is that even legal. They produce the product. They then distribute it through their network. If one of their wholesalers are selling to unauthorized companies. Here's a thought, go after said wholesalers instead of your own customers. It's their name on the product so it's their own name they are ruining. When will they ever learn???

Cheers,
Steve

And at some point you were using an older battery??
Now ur back to the same batteries you bought originally with the box?
The BOX is not the problem
IS UR BATTERIES they OLD!!!
time to get a new pairs at least get 4 new ones, make sure you couple them, don't mix an match!
I sounded like a lawyer, lol
I just wanna figure out what's going on!!
The discoloration inside the box is probably normal wear and tear!
Go get new batteries before

If the inductor is actually the issue, why not replace it for like 2.00? You'll have to meter it and size it against other models, but I'm sure it can be replaced. You'll also need soldering skills, if not see if there is a "TV" repair shop locally. Computer stores don't normally have EE equipment or knowledge.

Just an idea.

The warranty issue with deep discounted pricing is a known issue. It's how makers enforce MAP pricing. It's the only leverage they have. Has nothing to do with clones. If you want super cheap, and don't care about warranty, then you have options.

I'm not seeing any "burnt wires" in the picture above. All I see is a coil or two.

Looks to me like you had some eJuice seeping into the mod.
Not seeing any evidence of that. Maybe I'm missing it? Based on what?

you are right about that, juice is non conductive
So is cola, but it'll corrode the daylights out of a circuit board--even if it had conformal coating. (It'll just take much longer.)

what looks like juice inside his mod is most likely the resin coating from soldering
Resin, conformal coating or the wire's lacquered.

Can't figure out why there's what looks like little droplets of solder on the coil tops, tho...

The point being: It doesn't have to be conductive to be damaging. Cola is corrosive. So can be (is?) e-juice, I understand.
