Big problems with my Smok Xpro M65

Hey all. My M65 has been a pain in my ass lately but I've been dealing with the quirks. The other day I heard something rattling inside so I opened it up and what appears to be a tiny resistor fell out. The mod continued to work for a day or so but now it just turns itself off when I try to fire it. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the circuit board and try to figure out where this resistor goes? I had no luck with Google. I'd like to try and repair it if I can. No, I don't really know what I'm doing but I figure it doesn't work now anyway, I couldn't really make it any worse.

I would take the top cap off and see if you can push the chip out while pulling the top cap away from the mod.
Once you have it out look for solder joints that look like where the two leads from the cap came from and solder the cap back on. Don't leave the iron on the joint for too long or the board will heat up and melt other connections

If that all goes well, do this to the mod, it improves it greatly.

Thank you! I got the board out easily and soldered the piece back on. It works great now!
Also, thanks for the link about the backing off problem but I've already done all that a couple times and it helps for a little while but always starts doing it again.

Good job!

Yeah, the pieces need constant up keep to keep them from building corrosion back up.

I soaked the screws in isopropyl and scrubbed the threads with a toothbrush to clean them up too. Dip them in isopropyl and run them in & out of the mod a bunch of times. I let it dry then used some real thin bearing oil on the screws to keep corrosion from building up and I think the liquid itself helps to improve conductivity.

It's amazing how much prices have come down now with temp control 75w mods like the evic mini that is less than what I spent just 6 or so months ago on the smoke m50.

I can fix it ,but don't take it apart if u don't know what ur doin, the resistor is for ur icc switch, I build custom mods I have a 90 % ebay rating don't buy Chinese.

people are finding out unregulated is the way to go, none of that nonsense to break just the basic reverse polarity and under volt protection and done. I build custom mods ,I learned a lot and its a fun hobby, I will never buy Chinese again.

Anybody ever have a problem with an m65 just not working period? Was working great the other day, few quirks but nothing major, decided to swap out the battery for a brand new one, and now nothing... Not charging, won't power on, nothing... It's turned into a small paperweight...

Did you try the reset button?
The above mentioned fix?

Yes. Tried reset button, had someone take it apart, clean everything. Unfortunately nothing seems to work. Decided to get a replacement tonight, Cool Fire IV, sub ohm

That's how you fix it :D

With how the prices have come down it's not as painful when your mod takes a crap.
