Istick 60W kit or Evic VT mini TC?

Hi people- I am looking for a new TC mod, mainly for me-but also to appeal to my fiancee, as her favourite colour just happens to be the green that the Evic VTmini and Istick 60 side panels when changed.

She could use it to dip her toes in TC, and if she likes it enough, will get one at christmas. (Either the Istick or the Evic VT mini, I just don't know the pros and cons)

Now-If I am honest, I prefer the design of the Evic Vt mini-the only thing is the tank, but I have lots of tanks I could use on it.

Does anyone own either one, and can tell me what they think?

I prefer the screen on the Vt mini too-its just the tankt the istick comes with takes I believe atlantis coils, so will be easy to get coils for-although I am sure I could find a coil for the tank that comes with the VT mini.

I do also like the idea of the Vt Mini's Usb port on the front.

They are virtually the same price-cheap, with a tank, whats not to like? Single 18650 for both-I am cool with that. I prefer replaceable batteries-I will also order some more when I place my order on Saturday.

So, any advice would be great on which to go for.

Thanks people, Conan.

Love my vtc mini. Build quality is great, screen is awesome, and it just works.

I find istick's poorly built in comaprison to evic mini. However, you might want to hold off for the new kangertech TC 60 device. Kanger always makes a very good product and i prefer the kanger tank to the joytech tank.

Not a fan of the Isticks and I will leave it at that.

Individually, the Evic vtc Mini has the edge in my opinion due to the firmware upgrade to 75 watts. I like mine, but do not use the Ego One Mega tank. As a kit, Id have to give the edge to the Istick 60. The Melo 2 is a pretty good sub ohm tank, and way better than Joyetechs offering. The options of different colored side panels on the IStick 60 makes it a versatile device.

Hmm, I did want to purchase another device for the collection this weekend-and seeing as its the missus favourite colour, thought it could get her into TC.

I will look around more, and make my mind up by Saturday. It seems the Evic is more favoured though-but the included tank is not all that. TBH I probably would only think of the included tank as a bonus and use another of my various tanks with it.

BUT, the Sigelei 200W fushcia. That is another very tempting offering-I understand it is the same chip as on the snowwolf, and I was thinking of getting one of them. If I can get the same chip, in a simpler styled housing for less, like the Sig 200 fuschia-that seems like a good idea.

If its that good, I think I will be getting it for the collection. My fiancee also really likes it-I let her use any of my vapes if she wants too, might as well use them if I'm not!

I am thinking with it being her favourite colour-it might get her onto TC vaping. I never thought she would be using duals in a dripper with a chuff cap-but she is. Now shes used it to stop smoking, she is having some fun :)

I bought the VTC Mini without the tank. I only have a small issue, especially with my Triton on this mod. It slightly wiggles. Once, I tightened it too much on the 510 connection, in order to avoid the wiggle. That lead to the mod not to fire. I had to unscrew the tank, and screw it back in. However, that could be just an issue with my mod, since I haven't seen anyone else mentioning it.

Hmm, I will check for that when I get it-don't want any wobbles, want a nice connection. I think I am going to order some 510 to 510 adapters just because I change tanks and toppers so much-save the threading on the actual mod, and simply replace that if the threads go instead of the connector inside the mod.

I might take my mod apart and see, if I can't fix the wiggle. However, it's so small, I can live with it (while under warranty)

I think it was a post of yours last week that made me check, and yes there was the slightest of movement. Wasn't noticeable while hitting it. At the moment, if I try, I can get it to happen, but about a tenth of a turn and it's gone. Definitely neither loose nor screwed down tight either way so for now... not an issue.
Yeah, I think, it's just a loose screw/bolt in the 510 assembly.

I like the VTC a lot and am using it now... Ti in Ni mode.

I have the i40 TC, and it's getting a little more use now with the hidden Ti mode activation.
:p :D

Wow dude, thanks for the Easter Egg. I had NO CLUE there was an activation for a Ti mode in the 40w TC. Damn right i'll be using mine a lot more!

Also, I do exactly what you do with the VTC. There's something wrong with the Ti mode, and I have no idea what it is. No matter, I just use Ni and set it back 100F from what I want. Vape on, bro.

@Jim_MDP @Neunerball, so it has a slightly loose connection? Thats not too good, but should easily be sortable shouldn't it?

Is it bad enough to notice during use, or is it like you say you have to try to get it to happen?

If its the latter, I will still get it as, well, its a funky green mod with a freebie tank :) .

I must ask about that freebie tank-how restrictive is it? I've seen in review videos its a restrictive lung hit, how restrictive are we talking?

Could you compare it to something say like a Lemo V2 or subtank shut off a bit, the free tank wide open, and what setting it would be like?

As I do plan on trying the tank-I still am not sure wether to get this as its all green, or the Istick, I know I will end up with both in the end though, just have to pick one for now-I wont buy both at once as I want to fully test it out.

People may find it odd-but I enjoy buying mods and using them to test. They then go in my collection-all of my collection does get its use, some admittedly more than others-but they all have their place.

Getting annoying with the batteries though-I have no idea which are my oldest and which are my newest 25R's, except for the green ones-I know they are the newest lol. The other 10 singles no idea-then I've got the sony's and LG HG2, Efest LGHG2 rewraps, I have an idea on their age as the sony's are married, and due to the colour difference/box I wrote the date on. Same with the married 25R's (2 sets, one blue, one green-I am sure the blue actually last a little longer, even my oldest ones compared to the new green ones, might be in my head though.)

I went with the eVic-VTC Mini. I've currently a Mini Protank 3 on it, with an eGo <-> 510 adaptor I picked up from a LVS. I tightened everything down until it was snug. Didn't rag on it. Not a hint of wiggle.

I don't have anything with which to compare it, and I've so far only operated it in VW mode, at less than 11W, but I'm happy with every aspect of it, so far.

Oh you can get it without the kit? That would be ideal for me. I will look around the UK stores to see if I can find a green one on its own :).

The Istick is still a contender though-and I would actually use the tank on that. 15W does not bother me-I wont use it past 50 anyway, I tend to vape lower wattage to get a better life out of my batteries-if I used it at full power it would last about 20 minutes lol.

It took me about a week to finally decide if the tank was worth it. My full intentions lean towards rda use so I had less and less reason to not go for it.

Good luck. I was torn between the evic vtc mini and the ipv d2. I only spent $35 on the mini including 2 day shipping compared to $45 for the ipv not including shipping. Happy hunting!

I bought my vtc without the tank too. The wobble I mentioned, I think, just happens with my Triton. My other tanks, like the Goliath V2, Chulhu RTA V2, Uwell Crown, etc. don't wobble at all, due to sitting flush on the mod.

How does that crown hit on the evic?

Just fine! The sweet spot of the liquid I'm using in the Crown is at 45W with the 0.5 Ohm replacement coil.

I made a thread. Should I have used more caps in the title? o_O
:D

Yeah... German discovery again... just like the stealth 75w bump for the VTC.
They're up to something.

And no one knows the issue yet with the VTC. We wait.

Hey Conan... one more for the pile. The upcoming 75w Asolo Mini.
Grace made a thread. :p

Sorry, it's hard to find a thread that you don't even know you're looking for :p

Love my vtc mini and Crown combo. Yes I have the wobble prob. Annoys the hell outta me. Tighten down the tank as hard as you can by hand and it goes away. I think the 510 threads are sloppy. Like they used one size to big a drill bit on the 510 hole before tapping it. Love the big screen and compact size of the mod. I would recommend it. Only drawback is the wobble and battery life. Gotta have a coulpe charged batts near especially when using the Crown.

Any more they are built very good they worked hard to improve them. The body is aircraft alum. the 60 has a heat sink as long as the board! The I sticks got a bad rap because the first 20 w that came out was over powered. But if you look into the situation you will find all the companies had problems and some major ones. Now I just got the 1 stick 60 and let me tell you this thing rocks and built very well. I'm very pleased with it and the reviews are outstanding.

I have seen a lot of those so called expensive mods you know the ones that have boards sealed in with hot glue and solder in piles on the connections and wires wrapped everywhere and floppy battery doors. Check out the break down on this at 26:17 for a break down. Note they did fix the mushy fire button.

I had a problem when I tighten the tank too much. It wouldn't fire. I had to unscrew the tank and screw it back in, without over thighten it.

I just checked if the Kanger Subtank wobbles on my VTC Mini....It does! I noticed, the 510 connections on the Triton and the Kanger Subtank are ca. 1 mm longer than on the other tanks of mine.

I find girls like less fiddling and this has TC and 10ml juice capacity with no 510 issues (because it doesn't have a 510!)

http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kangertech-NEBOX-Starter-Kit-p/krnbk10.htm

regarding all the 510 issues, I buy those delrin spacers/washers that bit between the tank/rda and the mod. They minimize slop and help with overly long 510 connectors. It's easy to make them as thin as you like with a metal file to line up air slots the way you like on a box.

VTC just got Stainless Steel !

Firmware 1.30
And a reorganized screen layout with a 2.0 file.

Testing now to see if the TC issue is still there.
Let us know, how it works out!

Re. SS Crown coils, I'm pretty sure, they have Ni legs. However, I think it shouldn't be a problem, when you're locking in the resistance.

Actually the iStick 60w TC build quality is several steps above previous iSticks. The frame is a perimeter style and is steel. I have the black version and don't know if it is stainless, though. Internally, the heat sink for the chip runs the full length of the circuit board and is finned. Lots of Mods come with a heat sink that is barely larger than the chip. There is a fair amount of air around the chip and heat sink that should help regulate internal temperatures. The 510 base is one piece and is very slightly raised above the frame. The one piece design is less likely to come apart than the 510 connector on earlier models like the 30w. Since it is raised above the frame, you won't see scratches on the top made from the tank rubbing on it. The gap between the bottom of the tank and the mod gives a bit of a thermal barrier between the tank and mod. The gap is barely noticeable and some people may not like that the tank is not flush with the mod.

just my 2 cents

I've been vaping the istick60 with the melo 2 tank for 5 days now. I absolutely love it! Fits in the hand perfect. Doesn't feel cheap to me in any way. Running 490 degrees at 40w in Ti mode with Ti coil. Vaping 1 1/² - 2 tanks a day. my 2- hg2 batteries last me all day. Glad I picked this mod for my first sub/box experience.

Conan... Y U No Own A Sharpie ??? :p

I haven't quite hit 20 of them yet, but every one has the month and year marked.
And then a number for each of the types of singles, and a 1A/1B, 2A/2B etc for each type of pair.
Do eeeet. :D

The wobble is almost imperceptible on mine, that's why I said it was just last week that Neuner's post made me check mine. Doesn't even do it today. Go figure.

I knew there was some reason I should have a KST Mini... as a yardstick. :p

I only have a few sub tanks, nothing we share to compare the Ego One Mega to.
It has a slight restriction, but I have tighter ones (the new Bellus in single coil is much tighter.)
I got it to have another tank but more so to check out Ti. It's still the only Ti I have.
The little rebuildable head (CLR) is supposed to be much better but I haven't tried it yet. I can only test Ti modes with this one Ti head, obviously, so it's still in there.
But if it isn't worth it for her (matching Teal tank ;))... just get the mod.

Or keep shopping for now. I love the VTC, but I have another handful of TC mods.
It's a pisser that mine is one of the few (?) with issues, but I'm really not put out by the loss.
She might be, if the "bad batch" made it over there.
Spain seems trouble free, as does Oz. But that's just an impression from the thread(s).

You're on that smaller UK board (not ECF)... any VTC threads there?
Haha-yes I should get a sharpie. I do have a permanent marker-but its not very permanent lol. I have marked the batteries with the not so permenant marker for now-but I will pick up a sharpie tomorrow or Saturday-then I will label them with an educated guess, as I know my green 25R's are the newest, then my married batteries(4 sets), but it leaves 10 I am not sure of. I think the rewrapped ones are older-so I will label them from 1-20, and any new batteries I get I will mark and date with a marker that actually stays on lol.

Well-the mod will be for me-but she will use it, I am sure of it lol. Also, her name is Cheyenne and the colour is Cyan-pronounced very similarly so she likes it even more.

I think there is a VTC thread there-created by me though lol. Basically I think I was told to go for the Evic for the better screen and I prefer the solid colour-so does the missus, so thats a bonus.

Going to order it this weekend-found it cheap, and I will use my refund money to get it plus a haze dripper tank (Clone, I am not paying 100 dollars for a dripper tank that looks like it costs 30).

I will let you know If I get any issues with it-I shouldn't though, and it will be nice for the collection, and hopefully get Cheyenne working with TC.

Like I didn't imagine her dripping with duals at full power (Sig 50) but she is, making her own coils and using a chuff cap and learning tricks, even I've not done that yet lol.

The huge heat sink works great I can't get this thing even warm. The tank stays room temp most time unless I vape like crazy and then it just gets warm. This thing is awesome.

If all else failed: I'd start by checking my local big box "hardware" stores: Like Home Depot and Lowe's. If that failed: I'd try to find dedicated fastener (screws, bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) businesses. What you're looking for probably classifies as a "fender washer." Fender washers have holes that are very small, compared to the washer's outer circumference. You'll of course need to know the diameter of a 510 connector and the diameter of the tank.

The thing I had to learn was to use a room temp coil and be sure to set the Ohm lock before using it. I set my wattage at 45 and the temp between 410 to 480 depending on my mood. If your getting melo 2 you will love it I have a lot of the popular tanks but this one is just outstanding and love the top side juice fill.

People may find it odd-but I enjoy buying mods and using them to test. They then go in my collection-all of my collection does get its use, some admittedly more than others-but they all have their place.
@conanthewarrior One of these days you should post a pic of your collection. LOL Based on your posts it must be massive by now.

I bet you'd like to see my collection of currently 57 (and growing) RDAs. I won't take a picture, unless they are displayed properly. However, every time, I plan on finally building a rack for my RDAs, I recount my RDAs, and it's back to the drawing board.

Its not that big, I will put some pics up later. I've got ten Regulated mods (11 including the missus) but the DNA200 is currently in the US going under Evolv repair-its in somewhere called O'hare airport-I was misaken, it wasn't there the very next day, it was in preperation, it landed there 2 days ago. I am hoping the don't think it is a tazer as I only sent the chip half due to the battery being dis-assembled and Evolv was not bothered about that-they just wanted to fix the board. I was thinking if I get a bozo customs inspection they could think its a tazer with the two prongs-but surely they would use google as I marked it as a DNA200 on the box lol.

I also own 3 mechs , 6 tanks and 5 drippers.

I don't know why-they are all similar in function, but I like the quirks of each device TBH-the smoothest experience is hands down the one I don't have in my hands right now, the DNA200-followed by the Sig 150 TC, that does TC very, very well.

I have one of them goblin mini's on the way and a derringer dripper as I heard they are great for flavour. The derringer is a clone though, but I don't mind that as long as it works well :).

I will give them all a nice clean later, put a topper on them all and take some pictures if people would like to see the growing collection?
