Being good at building means not only knowing how to build a coil, but understanding ohms law and knowing your battery's limit. Which you should know before you ever build a single coil, whether you're using a regulated device or not. Being competent does not only mean having a good wrapping technique, it means understanding how your coil is going to perform and the relationship between voltage and resistance. Ohms law is so simple to understand that I don't know why people don't take 5 minutes to research it. If people are dumb enough to go building without knowing anything about ohms law (educating themselves) then maybe they deserve to be a little scared. Maybe it will stop them from being stupid for two seconds and then they can educate themselves. And if you read my whole posts, you'd see I did give an explanation of ohms law.

Here is my issue. You don't need to build below .2 ohm to get great clouds and flavor. So I just do not understand the fascination of building below .1 ohm. I did build a Doge 2 at .08 ohm and oput it on my dual parallel DJK mech mod - it was okay but my higher ohm builds on my tubes vaped better, IMHO. Give me a Twisted Messes at .25 on a hybrids and it is already getting more than hot enough and clouding the room.

I like building twisted coils and fused claptons and ... But why build so low? When friends ask me to build them a coil I never build too low anymore. So apart from the risks of using inferior batteries and not understanding a build's limitations, I ask you why you want to do it?

Having builds just above no resistance gives them street cred with the chubby guys with tats at vape shops and YouTube who wear black t-shirts two sizes too small...

I am not 'shitting' on anybody. I went through the 'let's see how low I can build ' stage. That was two years ago. I'm cautioning new vapors and attempting to pass on a little experience. By all means enjoy your vape but vape safe. I know it looks cool and all. I build an alien coil and I want to show it off. But everyday vaping - and I chain vape - I want a higher ohm build for a number of solid reasons - safety, juice consumption and better flavor. I guarantee I can chuck clouds with the best them vaping safely.

Sport vaping is a bit silly and immature to me; kind of like smokestacks on hillbilly trucks or Honda Civics with 5" exhaust tips which sound like a lawnmower misfiring...

It is a bit comical I will admit but I've done cloud comps but, that was to get free shit. Only reason I was there.

Im glad your enjoying vaping and found what works for you, I on the other hand arent in it to see how low I can go but thats just one of the many side factors involved with the way I like to vape. Im not worried about juice consumption, I usually use regulated or dual/triple parallel box if its unsafe but when using a single tube for gearing up for local cloud comps and such I use what I use in the comps. I dont shove it in other peoples face or make it like I own the biggest dick in town but there is a difference between the new vaper that got everything built and handed to them and a veteran vaper that has grown accustom to this style of vaping. No harm, no foul, just an explanation for my defense...which it seems to be brought up often enough

Its a bit silly to judge people for the things they enjoy, its usually a symptom of problem elsewhere, it shouldn't bother you that others enjoy the things they use or have as a hobby.

Who said it bothers me? I said it is silly to me. I'm sure some guys enjoy farting or belching contests, as well, but I find them silly also...

Whats an efficient way of monitoring your volts when using a mech tube?

Fair enough. A veteran vaper who understands what he is dealing with can def build .1 ohm coils. I have and still do on occasion take out my DJK with a low build. I am sensitive to it heating up and now when to rest it. Like I said - I was only cautioning new vapers to the risks involved.
