Questions about Temp Control?

I am thinking about buying a Temp Control mod (Wismec Presa 75 watt TC is at the top of my list) and I have a couple questions about temp control.

1) On the Wismec website they say some of the advantages of temp control are, decreased juice consumption and decreased battery consumption. This is a quote from their website:

" No more dry hits and the consumption of battery power/liquid will also reduced obviously"

Is there any truth to this claim? Have any of you guys or girls noticed this when you switched to Temp Control?

2) Is there any information about the safety of vaping with Nickle / Titanium coils compared to Kanthal ?


Are there any other advantages or disadvantages of Temp Control I should know about before I take the plunge?

THATS NOT ACCURATE, remember
Juice brings out the flavor, u might not get a dry hit, but will get less flavor, and who now a days gets dry hit??? But if you do get one, that means there's something wrong with ur wicking methods,cotton,juice flow etccc in a tank system, I'd rather have a dry hit, at least I know there's something wrong rather than vaping MY COTTON/etcc
I have seen vids on YT about NICKEL/TITANUIM safety, not sure how accurate the claims are but so far it's been mixed!!
I'm a 100% dripper, I build my own coils mainly CLAPTONS, I never get dry hits, my juice consumption the same, 5-10 ml per day, tanks system eats a lot of juice especially if ur one of those chain VAPERS, and it doesn't really matter TC OR POWER

I haven't noticed a drop in juice use. But I have noticed my cotton stays much cleaner, with zero burn.

I run 2 Kangers, one nickel, the other Kanthal. I can certainly say the cotton last longer in TC mode.

I don't have the time to do complex coil builds. So I simply wrap the wire, wick the coil, prime it and vape. And I'm too cheap to buy premade coils/wire of any kind.

If dry-burning concerns anyone when it comes to safety, then no wire should be dry burned, and temperature control should certainly help preventing overheating of any kind of wire.

Can't say that juice consumption is any less, but my batteries do last longer between charges running TC mode for sure. Not getting dry hits is a bonus too.

well myself being a new TL convert.
i can say this and it has been seen quite often.
when you're talking about, TC mode be sure to reference your temp in degrees C or F and your power in Joules. wattage when your mod does not uses Joules
it could also help to reference the mod you're using and the mode as well as wire settings.

i have seen people say there temp in F when it was meant to be C
as well as use SS wire in Ni mode with a different Temp point for the upper limit

Also with premade coils 95% are still the tried and true Kanthal. some are SS with NR legs and Some are SS.
just remember (Ni200 , Ti) is for TC or TL devices exclusively.

i can say this and it has been seen quite often.
when you're talking about, TC mode be sure to reference your temp in degrees C or F and your power in Joules not wattage.
since wattage is for old style power mode or non tc devices people could get confused.

i have seen people say there temp in F when it was meant to be C then say wattage when they should be setting power.
some devices may be using wattage interchangeable which could get bad.

Respect to you, lordmage. The 4S is a nice piece, as is the D2.

While I can't speak to battery use or juice consumption as I have plenty of both and replace as needed, It's true about dry hits - doesn;t happen. I vape tanks dry wien I'm changing flavor. 'Works every tome and reduces flavor transfer.

Flavor has simply not been a challenge. All tasty yums.

Thanks for the suggestions and links. I thought reduced juice consumption was to good to be true. When I get my new mod I plan on buying a couple temp control coils to try it out. If I don't like it I can always go back to variable volt vaping.

THat's exactly right but you do need to use the correct coils depending on your choice.

I will say, I prefer power mode. But some juices taste much better using temp control. Anything with a low % of Graham Crust flattens out (my prospective) when the wattage it too high. But it's still noticed in temp mode.

We can split hairs over the wattage actually used while in temp mode. But it won't change my thoughts on it

I can cook my steak at 400F, or I can cook it at 600F. One gives flavor, the other just cooks it.

I know which e-liquids taste best at what power and ambient temperature; 'science' doesn't...

With my experience I do use less juice a lot. And I don't burn coils although they do wear out. And the battery life is great. Never had a dry burn with Ti, won't use ni. I'm very impressed.

I do know better. I know how to vape, know the e-liquids I use and know my equipment. I suppose TC is good for beginners to avoid dry hits...

Actually I'm no beginner and in my experience it has increased the flavor. When you can keep it at the same temp at the desired temp you will find a smoother cleaner vape. I was not expecting this at all. All my friends that tried my unite loved it and are no buying them now. But if i had to i could do without it i have for years, but, for me it was better.
