Do I have this right?

Ok never used a mech mod
I am considering getting one, just in case this FDA shit goes through. I figured a mech mod should last forever or I can easily buy and replace broken parts.

SO I was looking at a simple mech box mod

Now what I would want to use is something like a crown tank on it
using a .5 coil

now if i use a dual box mod with samsung 25rs

if the box is wired in series then when the batteries are fresh it will fire the .5 coils at 141watts
and as the battery drains the wattage drops?

then if the box is wired parallel then i would get twice the battery life but the mod will only fire a .5 coil at 35 watts and go down as the battery drains?

You would fry that coil in less than a second in series. Think parallel box. Roughly twice the life of a single 18650 on a pure mech.

well a crown is a DVC but even at 141 watts thats way too much for it. but 35 watts is way to little for it.
SO I am thinking that using a mech mod with dual 18650s should be parallel and is only good for single coil when going sub ohm.

Now I know I am probably over simplifying and be very general but is that about right then?

An easier solution is to get a rebuild-able coil assembly for the Crown, they make them. I have 2 on order.

or just get an rta cuz the crown rba aint that good by reports on here.

but lets talk about it
so use a rda head for a crown
with a parallel box mod
if you do a single coil .5 build
according to steam engine
inputting 4.2v for the batteries
you get 35.28 watts

which sounds fine to me

is 4.2v correct with 25rs?

The crown RBA is good, when you know how to wick it right. Which won't be easy for a beginner.

forget about the crown

my question is basically this

a mech mod uses either 1 battery or 2
if 2 then parallel or series
IME a single coil build at .5ish can run 18-40 watts depending on other variables
while a dual coil at .5 needs more power like 40-70 depending on other variables

using steam
a single 18650 battery at 4.2V can at most push a .5 ohm build at 35ish watts
but a dual mech mod isn series is going to push that at 141w

141w at even a dual coil .5 build is just INSANE FOR ME
35ish w on a dual coil .5ohm build is not enough power for me

so it seems to me that when using a mech mod doing a dual coil .5 build is just not the way to go.
when using mech mods you really have to cater your build to the battery
there will be certain builds and ohm ranges that just dont work well on mech mods
a single coil .5 may work well while the dual .5 may not
yet a dual coil .25 may work extremely well on fresh batteries and a single coil .25 may not work as well

is everything i just said basically on target? do I have the GENERAL idea of mech mods

.25 on a parallel mod. Done.

I promise you will never have to worry about it. There will always be a way to buy a mod, whether it's intended for ejuice or a light bulb. If you want to buy stuff for DDay, stock up on liquid nicotine.
