HI,
I just bought 2 pairs of imren 3000mah 40a 3.7v batteries and now i saw that apparently they are extremely bad and unsafe. I DO NOT expect to do super low builds, maybe .2 at the most but please tell me did I make a mistake??? Or should I expect to have my hand blown off!?!?! :( :( :( Im sorry I just hope I didnt fuck up

I wouldn't go below a 0.3 Ohm build with these in a mech mod. I'm assuming they also have a constant discharge current of 20A only. The 40A is probably just pulse discharge current.

You should have done your research prior to buying batteries.

OK Thank you.. I know I am so pissed. I spent months researching EVERYTHING even batteries but then when I buy batteries I guess I just had a mental block or something.. :/

Are you using these in a mech mod, or regulated mod?

Well, then there's nothing to worry about. However, you might not be able to use the full range of the mod's power (Watt).

Isn't there a Firmware upgrade to make it a 200W mod? If you would want to use the whole range, you'd have to get something like the Sony VCT4, in order to use 200W. I personally have only used a max of 70W so far.

Yes, there is a firmware update to 200w, which I dont plan on doing any elaborate coils that require that much wattage. If I do the update though it would only be to support titanium coils, as I heard nickel is bad to vape on...

IMO, I don't want to vape on Ni, or Ti. I prefer 316L SS wire instead. Currently I can do TC with SS wire, on my VTC Mini. Waiting on my DNA200.

As long as I'm watching the thread, I'll be notified of any new post in the thread.

SS = Stainless Steel

I got some 24g, 26g, and 28g SS wire by UD, which is a 316L SS type of wire. I know, the replacement triple coil head for the Crown is SS as well. I'm not sure, but I think the replacement coils for the Triton is also SS.

OHHH gotcha.. I didn't even know that you could do TC with SS wire? That's interesting. Have you noticed any pros/cons with the SS wire?

With SS wire, I'm sure, it doesn't have the side effects that Ni and Ti have. The concern with Ni is, that your liquid devolves the Ni and you'd inhale that. With Ti the concern is the oxidation on the wire, when inhaled.

I have a bunch of Imren batteries they are just relabeled they are fine but as others said the 40A is probably pulse if that...
I have used them down to .1 ohm on a mech for gosh the last year but I would not suggest it... I usually now only build at .15 or better

TC with stainless is awesome that is all I use now on all my TC mods of course the most accurate is the DNA 200
304 Stainless appears to be the best of the SS wire that I have used so far it has less Molybdenum

Oh okkk so Obviously they are decently reliably.. However next time I buy four more batteries, they will probably be Sony VCT4s.

Due to the ramp up time is quick it has a very clean flavor you will have to try it to see.. its great also being able to have 10 wraps of SS double that of Kanthal and the same resistance means all kinds of interesting combinations

I think the flavor that comes off my SS builds blows away Kanthal, Nichrome, and Ni200.
