Hello,

It's a typical question but of course don't want to purchase before asking :3
Just ordered the IPV3 Li online and looking to match a pair of batteries. Any suggestions and also a safe website to order that ships to Canada.

Many thanks.

I wouldn't run efests in a 165w mod, that's just me. Their amp ratings are sketchy. If you are going to use efests (I wouldn't, you can get genuine batteries for a buck or two more, efests are mostly re-wraps), Google them for the testing info BEFORE buying to make sure you have the right specs. Figure an efest battery that claims 30A or better is probably good to 20A, and a battery that claims 20A is probably good for no more than 10A. But like I said, you can get a genuine battery (Samsung, LG, Sony) for a buck or two more.

I have used efests but currently using a Samsung 25r, the 25r cost me 50c more than one of the efests and over $3 less than the other one and I feel the 25r is of much better quality. Yes, we all know that efests are re-wraps, but we also know that the amp rating and capacity are less than is claimed on the wrapping, so I just don't agree with recommending them as a "quality" battery. Just my $0.02.

I hear ya man I have some but again I know exactly what they are merly LG HE2's the reason they exist is they are a bit cheaper in bulk for stores to buy and sadly many people associate with them.. Most of my batteries are Sony VTC5's I just dont fuck around hopefully if anything the OP can learn the common batteries :)

And I bought the efests because they were the ones I could afford. One of them is a button top, I couldn't find any genuine button top batteries for the same price or better on eBay at the time, but I overpaid for that one. $9, claims 20A and 3100mah, testing info I dug up said 6-10A and said 3100mah was right but I didn't find it to last any longer than my 1600mah flat top. So after paying $9 for that battery and being disappointed and paying $5.50 for a 25r and being very satisfied with it, I can no longer consider efest to be a quality battery especially since they are re-wraps and we don't know what of.

The only efests that are for sure rewrapped LG's are the dark purple, which read 35A on the efest wrap and the LG cells are actually 20A. None of efest batteries say what they are re-wraps of or even that they are re-wraps.

Yeah, I hope he learns too, I feel much better knowing the difference between a good cell and a sketchy one. Battery cells are rated one of three things. Good, Ok or bad. I will take an Ok battery maybe if I can get it for $5 or less and not using it for super low res or super high watts, beyond that has to be a good cell.

I'm half tempted to peel the wrap off this button top I have to see if I can tell what it is. It doesn't fit in my regulated device, so I'll never use it anyway.

The local store near me has LG 35A 18650 2500 mah high drain and LG HE4 35A 18650. SAMSUNG INR 18650-25R 2500mah. These are the good brands they have. What are the small differences on these?

I personally own 16 25r's from Samsung. I trust em. They work and you don't worry about fakes like with sonys. Bear in mind sony hasn't manufactured an 18650 battery in almost 2 years. LGs; never tried em, but have tried other electronic products from LG, and I don't trust em. That's just me though. Lots of people love LG batteries.

Okay since these will be my first non built in battery I have a stupid question. Are those 25rs re-chargeable?

Samsung 25Rs 18650s are good rechargeable cells. I use them in my iPV 3 Li. If you have the choice between blue or green wrapped I would go for the green. They are the newer ones and are supposed to be slightly better but the blue ones are awesome too. I also have LG HE4s and I wouldn't have any issue with running those either.

If you are going to push 200 W limit (assuming you have it upgraded) I personally would consider Sony VCT5s (you would have to get them from a very reputable place since they were counterfeited due to not being in production for a while), but the 25Rs should have no problem handling it. I believe the board specs state 25A max current. The 25Rs are rated for 20 Amp constant current but can handle more in pulse mode, which is how vaping really is... especially with a 10 second time limit.

I've had mine as high as 90 with a 0.3 ohm coil but fairly short hits due to temperature... just to try it.

Blue 25r2s and green 25r5s from Samsung are identical in specs except for internal resistance. And charge cycles are upped on the 25r5s. And yes, they're rechargeable ;)

Hi guys sorry to bring up an old thread, just checking the VTC5s can run max 165W on the IPV3 Li with no problem as long as I have a .33 build or lower?

Just through Ohm's Law calculations, iPV 3 Li specifications, and VCT5 specifications I get:
200 W (iPV 3 Li upgraded), Max Voltage Out 7.5V, Current 27 A, Coil Resistance 0.28 ohms
165 W, (iPV 3 Li standard), Max Voltage Out 7.5V, Current 22 A, Coil Resistance 0.34 ohms
Sony VCT5 Specifications: http://liionwholesale.com/blogs/rev...78175364-sony-vtc5-us18650vtc5-specifications
As you can see by the Specifications, they can handle up to the limits of the Mod without any problem (any build the Mod can take, the VCT5s can take)! Yep... You are completely safe!

I run my 25R's on the IPV 3 Li. Love them. No problems with them at all.
