So I'm going to build a dual deck with SS for my DNA 200. I've read you have to do spaced, but didn't know if that was just for nickle. Is that true?

Also, why contact? I generally understand you want more wraps of things wire for surface area. But then in a long coil, it seems to me the center would get starved of juice during the pull. I was actually thinking I want spaced with thicker wire. What is the advantages of contact coils?

If you're building with nickle you have to space because its low resistance. As far as SS I have know idea. I would asume the opposite holds true with SS. I belive SS has a higher resistance so you would want it tight. You would have to experiment with an ohm checker.awry

No you do not need to space for SS on the DNA 200 just make sure you have the correct CSV file for the type of Stainless you are using from www.steam-engine.org

Thanks guys. I was doing some research and found out these are one of those never ending debate subjects. So I wasn't going to push it. :)

I understand surface area and more... It just seems to me having more saturated wick is good too. I'm going to give spaced a shot and see how it goes.

I really want to use 430, but can only find it in 28g. I was thinking of trying some twisted, but don't want a ton of wraps. We'll see how it goes.
