I'm always wondering, but at the same time, I always think about how I could always tell that smoking was killing me. It wasn't the subtle, long-term deal that people had made it out to be. The side-effects were quite immediate from the very beginning. I chose to ignore them.

I'm interested to see what will turn-up, but not overtly concerned with it. Do explicitly plan on vaping forever? Naw. Do I see any reason to stop doing what I enjoy at this point in time? Nope!

There are studies going on that seem to be showing that nicotine has beneficial properties re: dementia. I'm a nurse and work with many dementia patients. Dementia scares the heck out of me!! If there's even a 1% chance that nicotine reduces my chances of getting dementia, I'll keep vaping.

Had the thought in my mind for awhile, but as I continued I showed no signs of any bad long term effects. This has turned into much more than a habit and possibly even more than a hobby. It's like a passion of mine and I continue in my efforts to learn as much as I possibly can on the subject. Even with the proposed FDA regulations that attempt to ban over 99% of vaping products, I'll still continue getting my hands on this stuff somehow.

I've always said, something has to kill me, could it be the large amounts of caffeine from energy drinks? Yes
Rock crawlers? Yes
Late nights with little to no sleep? Yes
Vaping? Possibly... Moral of the story. I don't care, no one dies because they are too healthy. I know vaping is a safer alternative to cigarettes and that is good enough for me.

When I quit I would chain vape to keep me cool and I have gradually slowed down, I vape sometimes once every couple minutes and sometimes I just forget about it for hours which I think is great. Could I see myself always having a vape? Yea, do I think I will set a date that I need to quit, absolutely not. I think drinking too much soda at this point is worse so I will quit a lot of other things before I quit vaping.

Don't think it's about health nuts trying to protect the people. I think it's about wanting people back on something that they can make more money off of..

This question crosses my mind often. I have COPD therefore it is more than a academic question. I would love to see a indepth, independent study done on long term effects of vaping. Until then, I will continue to vape and reduce the amount of nick that I vape. I currently vape 3 mg and try to get to 0 nic. Beyond that, I don't know at this point.

I've been vaping for a few years now and expect I will continue to for many years to come. I'm not worried about the nic levels as I believe nic brings some health benefits, but I have been reducing flavoring percentages and types of flavorings to keep it as healthy as possible. If future information turns up to indicate more flavorings cause long term problems, I will cut back even further. For now, I choose to minimize dessert flavors and stay away from fruits and cinnamon that irritate my throat. Worst case, I'll vape unflavored if need be for the decades ahead. I damn well won't go back to smokes.

I'm not worried at all about it.
No matter what you do, your still going to die.

What's the worst thing that will happen? Shortening my lifespan and thus not having to put up with the worst years of my life?
Oh no, I wont have to deal with being in my 90s and being too old to do anything.

I understand your point. You never know what the future will hold in terms of the quality of life though.

Before I made the switch to vaping two years ago. I had moderate asthma, constantly getting lung infections, smelled really bad and a few times put in the hospital for Pneumonia. Also with 15 years of smoking cigarettes, I have spent a fuckton of money. Not just money from the habit but money for hospital bills and medicine.

Vaping is now a hobby and by the looks of how I am today. No asthma, havnt been sick in two years and a I don't smell like shit. Im gonna keep vaping without a doubt

The whole "live fast because you'll die anyways" argument always makes me chuckle.

I quit smoking cold turkey right after college- recent stress caused me to crave lol- picked up Vaping.... I like it- I recently quit Vaping for a while... Much much much easier to quit than smoking. But seeing all the new toys made build and buy and buy and build and buy some more... It tastes good. It smells good. Like others have said- it has become a hobby.

And it's cheaper than guns.

I swore I'd die with a smoke in my hand. Now, well, let's just see where the next ten years takes us. But like so many others in the thread before me, it's not just a way to get nicotine in my body anymore, or to continue not-smoking, it's a hobby. It's fun to tinker, mix, tweak, play, accessorize and enjoy all the different aspects of it. I've met some truly, down-to-the-core cool and good people through this hobby that I'd never have met before - the community surrounding it is another shining example of something I think this, as opposed to smoking cigarettes, brings to the table. No, at this exact moment in time, I don't plan to quit vaping any time soon.

You posed the question and it's been more than two months since. You haven't come back to this thread. You think about the long-term effects of vaping all the time, you say... Have you any further thoughts to share? Revelations? Wisdom? Caveats? Any personal experiences that are good or bad? ... So what are your thoughts ej ole buddy (whom I don't know). :)

I, for one, am a happy and proud guinea pig - we all are, it just differs to what degree we admit it. I've got no intention to quit vaping, but I never intended to quit smoking, even though I knew how terrible it was. If, someday 20 or 30 years into the future (provided I don't find some other way to Darwin myself involving power tools and/or motorcycles), it turns out this whole "vape" idea is as much of a disaster as smoking (let's be real, all of us believe it isn't but none of us can prove it yet) I may consider quitting. Given the amount of time I'm able to set my low-nic vape down without a craving as compared to the time before I'd be fiending for a smoke after I finished my last, I imagine that if I ever do decide to quit it'll be a lot easier than it was to quit smoking.

Hey, you didn't owe them another trial. You didn't like them the first time. What did you expect? I only posted that the way you called them out wasn't cool. I didn't post what I did, to have you try them a 2nd time. Damn... you didn't like them the 1st time! (I didn't order from them - though the price was good - because I saw that YOU didn't like their juice. I may or may not have agreed with you if I tried it... but I didn't try it.

On the other hand... I thought you'd be trying the Boiling Point e Liquids. I think they put out a nice juice. VVV isn't bad but I liked the BP better - posted to you about that. I know you saw.

About Nicotine & Vaping... If you smoked tobacco, in all likelihood, you became physiologically addicted to nicotine, If you didn't smoke tobacco but did take up vaping nicotine... and now consider yourself addicted to nicotine... you're psychologically addicted to it, but not physiologically addicted. In other words... Vaping's cool. You like the toys & the process... a phycological addiction is still an addiction - but it's more in your mind. Your body is not craving the nicotine (physiologically) the way you may think it is.

Nicotine itself removed from the other minor tobacco alkaloids and maoi inhibitors and consumed outside of a combustive environment is not addictive. In other words... you may think you're addicted to nicotine but if it's only from vaping... you're NOT. It's all in your head.

There are scientific papers online delineating all of this. I'm not a scientist or a doctor. My description is as accurate as I can express it at this time, without taking-up considerably more time that I don't have at the moment. I would just tell you... No worries. It's up to you to actually achieve that state. Chill out. Don't sweat it. Be happy. When you die it won't be from lung cancer or the effects of vaping. Good thoughts promote good health. :) ...and stress kills. Worry doesn't help either. :)

This right here.
If nicotine was as addictive as people make it out to be, then what would the point be of nicotine patches and gum? 6 month and longer studies HAVE been done by having non-smokers use these items daily and they *did not* develop a nicotine addiction, not one single person.

I have no plans to cease vaping. Now, like a lot of people I started with a decent nic level, and have gradually gotten myself down to 3 mg of the "bad" stuff. Will I try and go to 0 mg at some point. Probably. But I enjoy the vaping and enjoy the hobby. Yeah, it's a hobby to me now, what with starting to learn how to make coils and thinking about getting into DIY juice (I figure if I get good enough at both, the Feds potentially banning shit will be redundant). On the plus side it's a hobby CinCHOUSE fully supports, as the occasional new mod or new tank is way less intrusive in terms of budget and space requirements than a new Jackson. So if wife is happy and my lungs don't blow out from attempting to fog out the street hitting a 10 kW box mod build, I'll be vaping right along!

I just quit smoking at the beginning of December 2015. Have been vaping 6mg for the past 2 months. Hoping to be down to 3mg and MAX VG by summer, and 0mg by New Years 2017.

I don't plan on vaping forever, no. Just using it as a crutch to quit smoking. Ideally, I don't want to be addicted to anything. I see vaping as a means of keeping myself off of cigs, not so much of a hobby although I do enjoy it.

I think about the long term, I do and for every action there is a reaction and people talking in your ear that vaping is 1 million times more deadly than cigarettes but I'll take my chances

I don't know if I'll vape forever, probably for a while...
