Hells gate mod question

I need some input if anyone knows about this mod. I bought one and was curious about a few things. So it takes 2 18650 bats, which can fire 2 attys simultaneously. You can also remove an atty and a battery and use it like that and it will fire with the single 18650. Here is my question with 2 battieries and only one atty does this mod at as a regular dual parallel mod i.e. doubling the amp limit or does each 18650 fire each atty independent of each other like 2 tube mods glued together? Any help would be greatly apreciated to figure my build specs for single atty use.

This right here is the great debate. The company really hasn't elaborated on this very well. Some say yes. I believe since it is all one switch that the batteries work in one circuit. The only thing that concerns me is if it is one current the amp limit would be shared for each atty.

Exactly, I searched high and low for exact specs on this but they are pretty vague. It says resistance as low as .10. but doesn't say for each atty for both combined or what. It does however say there is some kind of pcb in there so I don't know. Hits pretty weak on single atty, so I'll go the safe right and just assume amperage for 1 battery per atty.

This is the big debate. I think since it is one switch it should be fine, but then when you have 2 attys on there do they share the same amp load or is it split? Its why I never liked them.

We actually sold these at the shop I work in. If it wasn't for this happening I wouldn't know: One of the first Hells Gate we sold fried when the attys were built at .1 ohm each. The RDAs need to be at least .2 separately. We sold the last one about a week ago. One of the regulars has had one for about two months with no problems, but we build his attys at .2 a piece.

Thanks for the heads up. Been building mine to .15 each, time to rebuild. Do you know if I take one atty off if both batteries are fire the remaining atty like a regular parallel?

That I'm not sure. The easiest way to tell is take off the left RDA and take out the right battery. That way the battery and RDA are on opposite sides.. That's the only way I can think to test it. If it works like a parallel box it should fire. If the batteries work for only one atty, it won't. Done and done.

This just made me think about it in a whole new light. I do not believe this is a parallel, all of the limited info points toward it not being. 1) Fires with only 1 battery in there 2) .2 build recommended per atty(parallel would allow much lower) This is essentially 2 tube mods stuck together.

That's a good possibility. Haha
