Yeah, I've got a Invader Mini and it looks and feels great. Then you start to use it. The thing randomly turns off and when you turn it back on it usually comes up set to 10 watts. PITA. I won't bother using it in TC anymore. Battery life in this is significantly shorter than other single 18650 mods with the same atty - WTF?. At least it wasn't too costly. In other words, it was and is cheap. But if I was dressed up for a Star Wars convention this is definitely the mod I'd be vaping.

My Invader Mini is relegated to using outside when the weather is less than dry and when I am outside by the pool...after owning (and loving) the eVic VCT Mini and now the Wismec 75TC I really am not impressed with the battery life of the Invader Mini...Now if Joyetech would make a weatherproof dual 18650 mod that was like 120 watts and did TC on Stainless Steel I would be a happy camper...even in the rain.

Yeah... the battery life is awful on the Invader.
You always have to carry around at least 1 extra battery during the day.
I don't really mind that part.
I bought it for a work beater/outdoors play mod.
And for that... its great. I actually bought another one once the price dropped just to have as a spare because the Invader is actually what gets the most usage out of my collection just because I'm mostly at work or out and about. So I figure for that reason alone...it will be the first to break on me. And I'd rather have that one break/wear out /get scuffed up a bit, rather than any of my others.
Its also nice to have for any unreliable/leaky tanks that you may have.
No worries there!

Never even tried the TC on it to be honest.
Of the battery is this bad in regular power mode, I'd imagine it would be even worse in TC

Well, as I mentioned a while back, mine was not functioning consistently in both TC and P modes. I was also having issues with the firing button. This was probably the result of my constant pushing to make adjustments. As of this weekend, it died. 3 months of use. I would consider buying another for the express purpose of using it only in Power mode when adventuring outside. My everyday mod is a Sigelei 150, which has been great. Too bad the mini did not cut it, I really like the design and look.

I guess I am the Invader Mini whore. I still use my three (black, gray, and blue) and I quit using all of my other mods about 6 months ago. I also purchased 9 extra top caps at 3avape ($6.50 each). They also double for atty stands too. I also ordered three more (purple, camo yellow, and camo blue) Invader Minis. The only one I will be missing is the green. Although Gearbest lists there are two greens. One regular green and an army green. I probably won't get those.

Yes lots of people say they go through batteries. But I don't think they are that bad and I use TC mode most of the time. I am pretty sure I go through about 3 to 4ml of juice before I need to charge the battery. I am setup that I could charge 9 batteries at one time (two XTAR VC4 and a Triton charger). So I can pump out charged batteries a lot faster than I can drain them anyway.

When I am out, I don't normally bring extra batteries, but rather take another Invader setup or more. Once I had blown a coil open while I was out (and I didn't bring extras back then). I blew two more that same week and realized all three coils had been dry burned three times. Kanthal gets really brittle after three dry burns. So I just wrap more coils more often instead and I never blown another coil since. But I bring an extra setup or two in case of one quitting, leaking, or something.

I have been using this thing as a work beater since May of 2015. All the little quirks it had originally seemed to have worked themselves out and are nonexistent these days and has actually been a pretty reliable device. It does go through some batts though and I take a couple extra with me for the day along with a Sig 150tc that I also use as a work beater.

I wish it was a 70w device and if they make a higher watt version I will buy one just because this mod is one I never worry about when it comes to work conditions.

I originally typed 4 to 5ml per battery on TC. But I charged it to 3 to 4ml before sending. I should have left it alone. As I wasn't sure. But I'll keep an eye on it as I just changed the battery on one after 5ml of juice through it. The battery was still firing, but down to one bar.

@Fictitious Character: Are you sure that isn't May of 2015? As they didn't start showing up until around May and those were v1. V2 came out about 90 days later and while there are differences, I personally don't care which version I use. My gray is v1 while my others are v2. Yes that 50 watt limit is a problem for some. Although I vape mostly with 18mg of nic and I would be really wired all day if I vaped 18mg at 70 watts. LOL

Oh yes, I am getting 5+ ml easy per battery in TC mode. So what are the rest of you getting? I usually change the battery when it drops less than half, so I don't normally pay a lot of attention how long the battery lasts. But it was on one bar left at 5ml of juice and now I already went through 6ml of juice with still one bar left.

LATER: Okay now no bars showing and it is still firing just fine and past 6ml of juice.

LATER MORE: Okay just past 6.5ml of juice and my Invader just stopped firing. I let it sit for a minute or two and fired again and it is still going.

I don't know... I think that is pretty darn good for battery life if you ask me. I don't know, but out of all of my mods, I would guess my Vamo v7 (40 watt) is the best for battery life. I have some Kanthal coils in use, but they are about 0.55 ohms. A Vamo v7 will fire at 0.50 ohm and slightly lower (it isn't suppose to according to the specs). I don't know if I want to use 0.50 ohm coils and pushing 7ml of juice through it to see how well it can last? Oh what the hell, maybe I will. ;)

I wonder if the extra battery consumption is from the OLED screen.
Ive been hearing recently that OLED screens use a lot of battery in comparison to regular led screens. So much so that it why Coil Master switched over to a regular led screen on the new version of their 521 tab. If this is true or not I have no idea, it's just been "talk". However.... the OLED screen on my Evic-VTC-MINI doesn't seem to chew up the battery very much. But I may not be noticing too much on that mod because I run it at higher wattage anyway. Idk.
Don't really care all that much.
My Invaders are just Work Beaters as well.
When I get home I switch to my others.

I wish they'd make a better updated version for us "manual labor guys" though.
Or even better...if other companies would jump in and produce some heavy duty rugged mods.
Pretty damn slim pickins for a work horse mod right now.

I really would encourage people to grab an evic-vtc-mini though.
No it's not a rugged waterproof mod, but it's very comfortable and sturdy.
Definitely my favorite high powered "single" 18650 mod by far!
75w box and the battery life is exceptional imho.
Joyetech seems to be really good about keeping it updated too.
Full TC with Ni Ti and SS if that tickles your fancy.
The latest update has even given the ability to adjust the coefficients.
(I haven't played with the coefficients yet, but I found the regular TC to work well )

**the tank they try to sell with it is a worthless piece of shit though. Unless you like to mouth-to-lung vape. if youre a lung hitter, save yourself the extra money and just get the box**

Yes I think so. But PBusardo I believe mentioned that he gets about 12 hours on a battery and that is what I get too or better. Although he stated he normally vapes at 15 watts and I usually vape at 10 watts, with something like a Subtank (I vape with 18mg of nic). In TC mode it is at 15 watts. To me, that is on par with any of my other mods for battery life. Although vaping with a dripper (RBA) like a Mutation XL v3, 10 or even 15 watts won't do anything. At takes about 35 watts before you can get a decent vape. Yes the battery goes downhill fast, but it does the same with the rest of my mods too.

Yes there are a lot of mods that does what this one does electronically and all. But what I really love about them is how tough they are. I have five of them now and three more coming in the mail. If I have a choice, I rather use a Heatvape Invader Mini than anything else.

I hear that. I deal with paint and drywall so the Invader is one that I don't worry about at all. I contemplated buying another one of those that was linked above, but I am running this one at near max, so I was kinda hoping Heatvape would make a new one that was 70ish watts.

The Sig 150tc is another one I use as a work beater.

Has anybody else tried any other TC wire with their Invader Mini besides nickel?

I am still waiting for the blue camo version to come in. I ordered one from 3avape too, but they sent a gray one instead of a blue camo. But I have all of the other Invader colors. That purple one I got really had that top cap really screwed on tight. I tried for hours to get that cap loose. I finally went into my workshop and used the wrong end of handsaw blade to turn the top slots to get it loose. That green one looks very much like the gray one under some lighting conditions. So far I really like the yellow & black one. But I think once it gets here, I'll like the blue camo one better.

I've used my black V2 all day, every day since it came out and only now is it starting to show any signs of weakness (fire button is slowly dying from overuse).

They use a little more battery than most single 18650s which is a bit of a pain but you can still make it through a work day easily. They're durable, water resistant and other than occasionally losing settings when you wake it up (like once or twice a week), the thing has been pretty much flawless.

I was about to grab a target V2 to replace it (because of the button) but I think I'm going to hang out and see if another rugged device comes along that fits the bill.

I was liking the look of the dovpo guardian 1.5 but it seems as though the TC mode is bunk...keeping my fingers cross that my little inavder holds out until something better comes along now.

I just don't want to carry something around that plain looks like a box, and it rains a lot here and I'm outside a lot so water resistance is a big plus.

I got my last one a week ago. The blue camo. So I have seven out of the eight colors. There are two greens, one just called green and the other one is called army green. It looks like I got the army green one. Seems like the regular green is the super rare one. In the beginning they showed four colors. So I planned on getting all four. So I bought a bunch of spare top caps. But they came out with four more colors (damn it). Now I have way too many top caps.

All of mine are holding up very well except for my first one (gray and my only v1). That one I tossed in a bag and when I pulled it out, the atty was loose. I think it popped up wearing down a few threads. I replaced the top cap (like I don't have enough) and it is better, but the mod threads don't grab as many threads as the others. But it is still working right now and all.

I do have a another one (an eight one), but I ordered a blue camo from 3avape and they sent me a gray one instead. I still didn't open it yet and I am hoping they will make things right. But it has been weeks and I think they don't want to. I think they sold out of blue camo myself. But if my original gray one threads gets worse, this would replace it.

If someone is looking for a tough mod, I got two Wismec Reuleaux RX200 (in each color). The case is made out of aluminum and they seem pretty tough to me (you probably can't drive your car over it). But they weigh about 50 grams more (with three batteries) than a Heatvape Invader Mini (with a battery). No protection against water though. And not very pocket friendly. :(

I always thought the Invader Mini was pretty good on battery life. But I rarely use one mod all day. Like my blue Invader Mini I charged the battery four days ago and it was down to 3.70v today and that seems fine to me.

But on another project, I started to keep logs of juice and battery recharges. And it wasn't a big deal to add to the log the Invader Mini ones too. 60% of the Samsung 25r capacity used on just 1.8ml of juice! I don't know if I could squeeze 3ml per battery or not. That is really horrible!

Ouch! That is miserable juice consumption per charge. Thanks for keeping us up to date! Did you ever get a resolution on the blue camo that you ordered?

I've been vaping that blue one a lot today and I am down about the same 1.8ml on my Crown tank. But the battery is slightly better at 3.84v this time around. I believe it would make 3ml this time (maybe).

No that blue camo, 3avape did nothing about it. They originally sent me a gray one and I have it still sealed in the box. They did include two bottles of juice (worth 4 bucks) with my package. I guess that was for sending me the wrong color. They are still sealed too. Oh well.

Mine won't vape or read my atomizer. When I press the fire button it just says "Atomizer open"
Have you tried taking the top cap off and screwing it on your atty? Then screw both of them on the Invader Mini? Don't screw that top cap too tight on your atty. As they are very hard to remove if too tight.
