So I think I've got the balls to try an unregulated box mod. Either triple 18650s or dual 26650. Ebay has a ton of them. Should I trust one from there?

Not sure yet. I'm not sure of the benefits of either. Things with no regulation tend to go boom. I don't wanna be looking like an acme bomb blew up in my face.

Your batteries are what go boom... With unregulated mods its really right in front of. You can see what you're getting. A once over of parts is all you need. I have a Dimitri parallel box mod I got from eBay years ago... Still ticking. Solid contacts. No wires, I wouldnt necessarily say it talks BALLS but a little common knowledge wouldn't hurt you at all. What are the Mod/mods in question. Biggest issue you will run into is the switch. A heavy duty solid contact switch is hard to beat.

I've used others mechanical boxes and they just hit so much better than anything regulated I've used. I'm getting a mutation rta and I feel an that would do it justice. I'll post some in a bit.

Lots of variables with this statement, what build, wattage etc etc etc etc.......

I like my mechs as much as I like my regulated but if I had the choice I would get a good regulated box any day of the week:)

it really depends on who you buy it from and which brand or builder that makes it.
it would be much safer for you to possibly list the links to the few you are wanting to choose between and let some experienced vapers weigh in on helping you choose the safest and most reliable mod.

Also decide which you want before you really look.
You have to build in completely different ways for series or parallel.
Series is giving you 8.4v and 20a on a full charge(assuming its a good 20a battery) and parallel is giving you 4.2v and 40a.

And check the seller rating especially feedback for the item in question!

If you are going to be using batteries from EBAY, you may well be buying a hand grenade...

I rather think he was asking about purchasing a mod via eBay and not batteries.

But as far as batteries from eBay, we are in complete agreement!

Well, if he's buying the mod from eBay, he's probably buying the batteries there, as well...

Agreed about the quality of eBay sellers. Me and my customers consider me a good seller, but I don't deal in batteries or mods, just some of the parts and PCB's people have been using in their own mods (for themselves and for resale). I work hard to keep a 100% rating there since there are so many bad sellers!

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=291614074973&alt=web this is more my speed. Semi unregulated box. Does this one look good? I'd love to swap that switch for the halo type

Tesla makes solid products. If it is indeed authentic, you'll be fine. With a mosfet comes an ohm limit. If you build too low, the mosfet will blow and auto firing will occur. Don't go much below .1 ohms. Like others have suggested, look at the feedback and reviews. If it looks to be true.. Go ahead and get it. Replacing the switch shouldn't be too hard. You may need to research a little so you don't mess it up.

I think I'm going with the telsa. Reviews are solid and I shouldn't be holding a grenade to my face. Parallel box makes figuring builds a bit easier too. Gotta find good 26650s now.

With that specific box, you can use 18650s also. If you are wanting 26650s MNKE 30a are dependable batteries.
