Hi everyone. Remember the nightmare I had with gearbest and the original hotcig?

Well, on the weekend I got a text saying my DHL deliver was due on Monday. Thing is, I had not ordered anything via DHL.

It did not turn up, and I got a text saying it would come today.

Bennett was not lying. I am astounded-here is the pictures of the updated free DNA200-

It comes with the Li-Po disconnected this time so the battery can't drain to stupidly low levels, and has had a facelift (I think a few internal differences too).

Front of device, notice the buttons are now black and they feel a lot smoother, plus the fire button is similar to a sigelei 150's and a smooth taper now:

The pin I am not sure if changed or not, I am a bit shocked still if I am honest:

It is working fine. It is charging now. I am completely astounded. I will probably keep the other one-as then I will always have one DNA200 fully charged.

So, I want to say a HUGE thank you to Bennett from hotcig, he was not lying, and has sent me the updated, perfectly working new version.

That's cool mate, but considering most of us received severely discharged batteries on that mod and nothing was done about it other than raising the price of spare batteries to $45 from $23, my opinion of that company is still less than flattering.

Cheers,
Steve

That is very true-I highly suspect the silver button version to basically be a Beta version. The black button version comes in different packaging, the LI-Po is disconnected and worked straight away,PLUS paypal gave me 45 dollars for the battery, and in a strange turn of events so have gearbest even though I have told them paypal are handling it!

So I have got both DNA200's for around £42.50 each now. I also suspect this to use a different battery pack, as it was programmed to 10WH already and the voltage cutoff set to 3.05, I raised that to 3.09V as I felt that to be a little low.

But, it has taken a few months-but in the end hotcig DID sort it, so I have one of the 'beta' models with a new chip and wired by Evolv that now works great, and this one, that works great also. I was completely turned off of hotcig, but the new version even FEELS different in the hand.

The chip in this one was programmed on November the 2nd, so is newer-the first one come with a chip programmed near release of the DNA200.

I am sure its more than just a facelift and the button colour change is just so hotcig can distinguish the bad ones from the new ones.

OK this one vapes the same, as to be expected-BUTthe battery seems to be going down a lot slower. I did hear that hotcig had turned to turnigy LI-Po's, I think this may be true.

I think I just may now seeing as I have 2. Battery life is not the best at 900MAH Li-PO, but is OK for short journeys. I hope the Efusion 1300MAH has a better life, which it really should as I have that coming next week.

Some quick calculations tells me you should get ~44-45% longer runtime. That is if both batteries are really what is claimed.
900mah=9.99wh
1300mah=14.43wh

Thanks man. That should be good then-my friends who have run the battery test in Escribe have all had 1300MAH li-Po's in their Efusions from the vendor I got it from, plus the vendor is giving me a spare Li-Po for free due to what happened with the Wismec DNA200 preorder's ending up being RX200's when they turned up/

Good bit of luck dude My first thought was....now that you have two dna200's you can buy an RX200 swap out the boards and have the only teal and white DNA200 around.

Ooh that is so tempting, but if I am honest, as they are both working perfectly, I would love to do it, but I will likely break something. Like when I say I repair PC's, its only basic stuff but most people don't know how simple it is, so I can make a bit of money. I am going for my full COMP TIA+ with cisco (theres not really anything higher than this in the UK for diagnostics and repair) so after that-I will be a LOT more knowledgeable in what I am doing, and could do that.

I have a squonker on the way! I payed £12 for a kangxin 60W, it was so cheap I thought why not try it? I bought it off a good friend on the UK forums, I bought the Uwell crown off him and it was perfect, so am looking forward to this. I hope it arrives tomorrow, it should do but it seems royal mail tracking have froze. I am hoping it still goes through as normal and is a system error as it was posted 2 days ago via 24Hr delivery.
