Fuming with Wismec-but VERY happy with Rob from vapegeek.

Bad news everyone.

The Wismec realaux order turned up to vape geek this morning-but to their astonishment, it had a much cheaper, crappier chip, a joyetech DX200. No more wismec realauxs's are releasing with DNA200 boards in the near future-read it up, its true.

So I will not be getting a wismec dna 200, possibly ever.

BUT, Rob wanted to refund me immediately.

I said, wait a minute, my other choice was the Efusion from you-could I change it to that?

So he has changed it to a blue EFusion, given me a free extra LI-PO, and even an extra premium drip tip in blue to match it. The LI-PO sells for £25.

So, thats the end of the wismec dream. No insane watt hours. The best I can have is after christmas, the EFusion V2, dual 18650.

Even if he could get hold of a batch of WISMECS with dna200's in, he would not sell them-as if it goes wrong, he can NEVER replace them if the have completely stopped manufacture.

So, why the F has wismec stopped using the DNA200? I am pissed off, Shop owners are pissed off, and the package Rob received is going straight back to China.

But, I will have a nice blue EFusion in the next few weeks, with a free spare LI-PO and a premium drip tip.

So I want to thank Rob for being honest and phoning me, that is how business should be run. He said he emailed the Vendor he bought from, and they said "Oh did you not know they did not come with that board now"? His reply obviously was of course not or I would not of bought the bloody things to sell.

Has wismec lost their minds? Or is it an issue of price? Failure rates? Who knows.

EDIT: The reason is due to a shortage of DNA200 boards, so they have changed the price and put the joyetech chip in instead.

They have changed all future models to a joyetech 200 chip. I can't believe it.

It's due to a shortage of DNA200 chips. Maybe in the future I CAN get the wismec-but not anytime soon.

They haven't changed. There are two models, a DNA 200 one and a Joytech one. Same box different colors and chip. The Joytech one is for people that don't want to mess with escribe. It does ni, ti, and ss out of the box and its upgradeable. The Joytech one is the RX200.

Think it is a smart move on their part, they will sell a lot more with the joytech chip, just because of price, seeing them for under $50 and sure they are flying off the shelf, DNA200 is all good, but the chip is not cheap itself, so anything with that chip is going to be over $100, I don't think it is down to shortage of chips, they just know they can sell a lot more by bringing the price down by a lot.

Wismec's website still advertises the Realaux as using a DNA 200 Board. Hmmm.

From what I have read I think this is right.

Because the RX200 is a different model of the same box. A lot of vapers just want to pick up their box and Vape. Some people just don't need all the bells and whistles of escribe. They are currently offering both. One did not replace the other.

Just checked the web site and both are listed. Last week they only showed the DNA200 now they show both. I'm holding out for the DNA200.

I like that two models are offered. One for the dummies and one for the nerds; I fall into the dummy camp.

Well I just found this tidbit, seems like they are indeed having supply issues. Wismec News. I'm going to edit my earlier post.

Cheers,
Steve

Edit Here's the info for those that don't want to click the link:

"WISMEC Reuleaux RX200 Launching11/23/2015 Dear WISMEC Customers:
Breaking news!
Because we are now limited by the capacity and supply chain of our materials (screens), we cannot possibly meet the huge and evergrowing demand for the Reuleaux DNA200. In an attempt to satisfy this enormous demand, Wismec will be launching the Reuleaux RX200.
The RX200, a new version of the Reuleaux series, designed by JayBo, still retains its unique feature of three removable 18650 batteries and reverse polarity protection. However, the new and powerful chip utilizes on board reverse polarity and has maximum output of 200 temperature controlled watts. These temperature functions include Titanium, Nickel and Stainless Steel modes. The new and proprietary chip has upgradable firmware and comes in new color options and can be easily distinguished."

They haven't said the DNA200 is gone and they say "Reuleaux series" So I'm holding out hope that once the dust settles there will be a DNA version available.

I haven't been able to find any mention of them discontinuing the DNA200 version. All I have found is they are having supply problems. To me that suggests once they can resupply, it will be business as usual.

Cheers,
Steve

Hmmm. Wismec either is doing a smart move here, or are dooming their product line with a bait and switch scheme.

Both models are clear in that one is a DNA and the other is not. As far as I can tell, no bait and switch.

It's the same thing as ordering a computer with the chip you want. That's all they're doing. Some idiot on another forum said everyone is going to lose their money on the preorder because of patent infringements. He went as far as to say that all our mods are going to be confiscated at customs. Lmao. He could not grasp the concept of the same box with a different chip from the same manufacturer.

Wismec has something weird going on with the UK. Every chinese supplier has a disclaimer saying they cannot ship to the UK. Have no idea why that is. Eciggity seemed to have had plenty of the dna200 units for the black friday sales, with more showing up in a couple days. So, whatever the problem is, if there is one, the good news is they will make more.

The strange thing I saw with the RX200 is, it was European reviewers that got them first before anyone else. I have a feeling it's more to do with corporate politics than anything else. Who knows.

I think it has something to do with their customs and VAT or just they way they import. I remember back when the dna30 was just being released and we were all on another forum someone was trying to figure out how to get around some ridiculous upcharge for a mod. He tried explaining it but I can't remember.

I bought 5 DNA30 mods for some friends overseas and sent them as B-Day gifts. No VAT, but up the butt shipping charges.

maybe that's partly what the dude was getting at.
That board is still one of the best made of you're looking for 30w or less.

I don't know about that since these chinese suppliers will ship everything else to anywhere. Just no Wismec products to the UK. Might be more to do with distribution agreements of some sort.

Funny how China can ship a product to the US for a dollar via e-packet, yet if we ship the same thing to China it costs like 35 bucks or more

It is distribution agreements and it is not just Wismec it also includes Joyetech and their other brand Eleaf/iSmoka. It is also not just to the UK similar distribution agreements cover Russia and South Korea also. A lot of companies that do not purchase directly from Joyetech have been ignoring the agreements, but they do exist.

I hope so. The 'evidence' I found was on reddit, so is pretty shady. If the Wismec DNA200 comes back into production, I shall get one.

Not saying the joyetech one is bad-but I was not paying £130 for a joyetech chip in a realaux housing lol.

But the one with the Joytech chip was never at $130. I've seen them for under $50.

Thats the exact reason Rob from vapegeek would not sell them-I and others had pre ordered the DNA200 version, so he let us know. I am not disputing the price of the Joyetech chip version. Just saying he wasn't going to bump us with a cheaper mod lol.

I'm still not seeing your point. They are two separate models. One was not sold instead of or in place of the other. The box is the only thing that's the same and even that comes in different colors so you can clearly distinguish the difference's between the two. I haven't heard of any vendor bumping people to an RX.

OK maybe I am not making sense due to my brain damage.

All it is, I was unhappy that I was not getting the Wismec DNA200 that I preordered, but am happy with vapegeek. I just mentioned the Chips as that is what Rob, who runs vapegeek, got sent INSTEAD of the DNA200 models, so they was missold to vapegeek as he had payed for DNA200 Wismecs and had many pre-orders. Vapegeek is well known in the UK.

He phoned me straight away to tell me, so he was not mis selling them, it was a chinese vendor that did to HIM, not me. He has already sent them back.

I stated I was not going to pay for a dna200 wismec when it is not one-not that it ever would of happened.

I hope that makes sense.
