Whats up guys, just created my account and this is my first post. I've been vaping for about 4 months now. Started with a mini invader and am now currently using the sigelei 75 Watt. I want to switch to an unregulated mech mod and am not sure what are the best ones out there. I am looking for an authentic one and am willing to spend up to $250. I'm not yet proficient in a lot of aspects of vaping so forgive me if I sound inexperienced. The top three mods/RDAs I am currently looking into are 1) Tugboat by flawless RDA and mod 2) Phantom by Wotofo with a Phenotype L RDA 3) Nemesis by Atmomixani. I would greatly appreciate some insight as to which of the three do you prefer or think is best or if you have others in mind please share. Thank you in advance.

I love my phenotype, it's been my go-to for the last few months. For me it's been money well spent. As far as a mech mod, are you looking for a just tube mod or a mech box? There are advantages to both :D

Get a colonial if going tube mod. The authentic is great but the clone is almost as good ( I have the authentic). I have a hannya and a el cabron which I use on it. I use the hannya because I can build crazy coils and fit them easily. I use the ss el cabron because it looks so nice on top of the mod. The colonial switch is fantastic.

The nemesis is decent and well made - I traded mine away though. I prefer the button on the colonial - it is the best button I've ever used. The phantom is no better than any clone out there. Not a mod I would buy.

As far as authentic box mods go I stick to phillipine made box mods and swear by them. I've seen el cabron box mods for as little as 150 canadian. I have a DJK wood one - a bit more expensive - which I love. The flawless tugboat combo is excellent, btw.

Enjoy ...

I just recently sold an authentic nemesis, it was a great mod! They really do hold up exceptionally well, very consistent and perform exactly the way they should.
The same can be said for the tugboat v2(24mm). The tugboat v1 mechanical had some issues. I'm not sure what exactly but J remember reading several complaints. The v2 is highly praised, though.

Also though have you considered the USA mods Infected?

I really fell in love with the SMPL because it's simple lol. Also it's top cap is hybrid and already built in to the mod and the switch on the bottom is all one piece also. It has very minimal voltage drop and connectivity is great. Also love the recessed button. I will look into the colonial but to be frank, my heart is set on the SMPL. You said the firing button is well designed and that's actually my biggest concern buying a mech mod. I need something comfortable and easy to fire so I will look at the colonial.

I'm iffy about the tugboat mech mod because I heard that a lot of RDAs don't fit well with it if I want to switch. The tugboat RDA has a long 510 center to it which leaves a gap between the RDA and mod which really bothers me. Once again I have my heart set on SMPL mod and wanted to get tugboat RDA but it doesn't sit flush with it so now I'm looking at different RDAs. Not really a crazy coil builder since I'm new to mech mods just want something that holds a lot of cotton and juice (tugboat) because I hate constantly dripping. I will look into the cabron also because I saw it in a review and they said it was good.

The V1, I believe, kept leaking a lot. Also it didn't have air flow which the V2 now does. If I'm going American made it will most likely be tugboat but I did see the Zombie in a review also so I'll take a glance at that. Thank you!

I'm referring to the v1 and v2 mod's not atomizers. the v1 had some conductivity issues, the v2 is a a stellar performer.
But you're right about the atomizers

I have a SMPL clone with a Derringer clone on top. I would love to have authentics of both. They make a fantastic combo.

I bought a Dimitri and have never regretted it! truly a fully mechanical mod. hits like a tank with a .2 build on it. Use it every single day
