ok so I got my first dripper an was wondering why if I build a .2-.5 coil it's any different than a tank running the same Typ of coils can't be used on a mec mod

The biggest difference will be flavor, the flavor is much better from a well built dripper. As far as useing a dripper on a mech mod
1) Make sure you know you battery safety and you battery can handle the amps you build is pulling.
2) There are different kinds of top caps for mechs. Hybrid connections are not suggested to use with drippers or tanks the the positive pin does not protrude out of the 510 connector.

For a better answer more information on your setup would be needed. Hope this helps and good luck

I am more trying to figure out why I can't use a sub tank on my mec if .5 is .5 weather it's on a dripper or a tank

What kind of battery do you have for your mech? Does your mech have a hybrid topcap?

The FUhattan does not have a hybrid top cap so should be ok to use a subtank on. You need to make sure that your battery can can handle the AMP draw from the tank. Use an OHMs Law calculator to see what the AMP draw will be. The issue with subtanks and mechs are with the hybrid connectors shorting out on the 510 connectors. Since you don't have a hybrid connector you just need to make sure your batteries are safe to use with the what OHM your tank is.

The mech can handle it, its making sure your battery can handle the AMP draw. You need to check what the AMP limit is on your battery. If it is more than 7.4 it will be fine.

Do you know what the battery is?

Almost any name brand 18650 will push 8amps, its when you start getting above 20amps that you have problems.

Lg HE2/4s, HG2s

Samsung 25Rs, 30Qs

Sony VTC4/5

If its any of those you should be golden at <8amps.

Any of those good batteries won't have "3000mah" printed on them. @Eanderson88 says he doesn't know the amp rating, but yet says it's a 3000mah battery, How does he know? If that is printed on the wrapper, then it is some sort of re-wrapped battery that is potentially a cheap piece of crap. (Unless he has an HG2 and someone told him it's 3000mah).

sorry i am new to mec mods

Take a clear picture of the battery you're using and post it, if you would. The ohms law thing is all fine and dandy, but if you are using some fake piece of shit fire brand battery, people here can steer you to a battery that are safe to use like those @BadLuckAndTrouble mentioned.

True, I missed the post with the picture in it.

The only 18650s Ive seen labeled at 3k mAh are the HG2, 30Q, IMREN and eFest.

Im assuming the last two are re wraps of some sort.

I like the Arctic with the .2 ohm coil on my XXIX mech.. Running the IMREN 35A batt with no issues at all.. Note because this mod uses a hybrid top cap I modified the pin on the Arctic to protrude about 2mm..works and vapes great, safely

Also a .2 ohm build shown here in the Zenith RDA vapes about the same as the Arctic with maybe a little better flavor..I actually like the Arctic better as its a lazy man's dripper, like me. Lololo

I forgot, you're right,. Some distributors will put the stickers on them packaged for individual use. The HG2's I've bought, some had the stickers and some didn't. I assume the batteries that didn't have stickers, came from bulk cases meant to be used for tool battery packs or something.

Just as long as you know, Imren is not a battery manufacturer. They re-wrap batteries from a variety of manufacturers. Their 30 to 40a specs are greatly exaggerated. Their so called 40amp battery is really just a 20amp or less and runs very hot at 20amp. Source
