The christmas madness continues-it really has ended this time though.

Hi everyone.

I thought my Christmas madness spree had ended-but realised I had enough to get myself a few more last bits, and I couldn't resist the IPV D3 and the Kanger NEBOX.

I want the D3 as I love the D2, but I prefer the idea of not having to use a workaround, and use actual wattage mode for standard coils, and TC mode for, well, TC.

I also got the Nebox in red, as I had seen it in a shop yesterday, but it was far too expensive, and found a site doing it cheap in the UK, the offer ends in 11 hours, both were in stock and it is a top UK shop, so I should have them by tomorrow-maybe the day after, but it was 24 gauranteed postage, so hopefully I have them to try tomorrow.

So, does anyone own the Nebox or the IPV D3 that could tell me any quirks they have found, what they like and dislike ETC before mine turns up?

I had watched reviews of both devices, plus have some brand new 25R's that were meant for my wismec, but one set of my 'sony vtc4's which I suspect are fake have already started to go bad, one reaches 4.2V while the other is still just reaching 4V on the charger, and it drops capacity quite fast. Like its OK if I use them the same day-but after a few days it isn't, so I will likely marry another set of 25R's to replace the 'sonys' and keep one for my single battery devices, as I have loads of new ones and 1 extra battery will make it great for my single battery devices, all devices will have a battery in and I will have 7 spare, so well enough for when one dies, swap it straight out.

But-I must now say the Christmas madness IS over. This was my last bit of extra money, the rest I can't dip into. It had definitely been a fun month though!

So, let me know your IPV D3 or nebox impressions if you can :).

Thank you, Conan.

Hello,

I do not have a D3 but do own the D2. Its a great little device but is lacking in some areas. From what I've seen, the new D3 is bascily a D2 with a new Evic style battery door. I can't for the life of me understand why they did away with the old door which imo is the best out their. Also, according to all the review video I've seen, there is no step down or option for SS TC. They also did not change the awful charger and it is not firmware upgradable. Despite all that, the D2 is perfect in size, works well in TC and power, perfect little ADV pocket mod. Please update us on the D3, their are so many conflicting reports about the new chip and whether or not it does step down.

Thanks,

@conanthewarrior

I have the Nebox. It's perfect for the purpose I bought it (a more discrete vape to take out and about). I don't like it, however, with the RBA, because the airflow is restricted, but I do like the clapton OCC coils I was able to find. I find changing the battery a pain, because the spring is very stiff, but it's easy to refill the juice.

Hi there. I have the D2 aswell, they changed the door? I LIKED the door. Oh well-thats not the biggest thing, I must of missed that in the reviews.

The main reason I got it was real stepdown in power mode, and not having to use the workaround. Plus I just wanted the newer version. I hope the TC is as good as the D2's, as it was a really good device for TC for the price, very smooth indeed.

The NEBOX I liked the colour, also the juice capacity, and can see myself using that one a fair bit. Got a red one :).

Ok thats fair. I will try to find a wicking method that does not make it as restrictive, if not it will be one device I stock up on coils for. I knew the airflow was not adjustable, but I don't vape with mega airflow, like the newer tanks I use about a 1/4 open with the RBA for them in.

How is the TC on it? Is it smooth or jumpy?

After reading the reviews on the TC I haven't bothered to use it yet!

The airflow is limited by the fact it comes from the bottom - nothing you can do to improve it. But it's ok with the OCC coils.

Mine is red also :)

Also I hope the SX150H is an improvement upon the great SX130H. The main reason is just for an extra mod and real power stepdown with no workarounds.

Also, I forgot to ask-does it come with a rubber sleeve like the D2? I can't seem to see that listed, I hope it does. It not I will just order a few sleeves from our chinese friends and use the IPV D2 one for now.

If you have the time or interest, here is a video review on the D3. I'm not sure if what he has is final version but its worth a look.

Thanks.

I meant to add, there is definitely step down in the IPV D3 in power mode, that is the reason I got it. If there was not-I would not of got it. Every site mentions that it finally has step down in power mode thank to the new chip, so am looking forward to it :).

Ahh, that style of door! I actually like that style of door on my EVIC VTC mini, a lot easier to open, especially with juicy fingers lol.

The shop shipped today, just emailed them to double check, so fingers crossed it comes tomorrow, but with the Christmas post it could be a few days longer-but I think royal mail handle their parcels slightly differently to the normal post, so I hope I get a knock around 9-11AM with two new mods to play with.

I wonder if I will like the D3 more than the Evic VTC mini? As I currently think that is the best small device, great battery life and smooth TC makes it a winner. If I am honest-I have SS-but prefer using TI or NI200 as it just seems to work smoother.

I will make sure to post in the vape mail thread when I get them.

I am seriously thinking about doing straight to the point reviews from a regular vaper's point of view. As I am not getting them for free, I can point out any flaws as well. There are so many reviewers though, I doubt it would be worth it, but might be worth giving a try.

EDIT: I would like to add, early review units had the SX130H chip so no step down, the production model uses a SX150H with stepdown.

Well now that the step down issue has been confirmed to me, I might actually get one. But first I need something with a Duel 18650, I have too many mini models

Yeah I try to keep a bit of a balance, like 5 single 18650 mods, 4 dual 18650, and 3 Li-Po powered. Then theres the mechs, 3 singles and one dual parallel. I try to keep a balance between the two, but I will have a couple extra single battery mods tomorrow, but I plan on getting two more good quality 18650 mods and I think that will be enough for now.

Then I will only get a mod if its really innovative, or I really like the design. I do want to get the new sigelei 75W with the 26650 battery-but `I don't know what brands of 26650 are good, so will have to do some research.
