I'm considering buying a Joyetech e-Vic VTC Mini. It would be my first non-eGo-style battery.

Can I twist on a 510 to eGo adapter, and use my existing clearomisers on it? Will any adapter do?
Is a Sony VTC4 2100mAh 30A 18650 or an LG HG2 40A 3000mAh 18650 a good battery to start on?
Either better than the other?

Hi, Huck. *cuddle*
LOL, sweet. Forgot the part about the batteries. I have the LG's, but not the other and am very pleased with them in the mini.

Out of curiosity, what kind of tanks are you using, since you're needing an adapter? I sometimes use my mini Protanks and need one.

:)

I'm on Kanger eVod glass clearomisers. Which, now I remember, their leaks are no problem on an eGo-style battery but wouldn't do on the Mini. Damn. Any suggestions for small, pretty, inexpensive and easily recoiled clearomisers that don't leak?

Why wouldn't they work on a mini? I've used mini Protanks on mine, but it's been quite a while since I've used an evod tank. Currently, I've used full size protanks that I rebuild coils for and Goblin mini RTA. I just picked up an Eleaf GS tank, but had to buy coils for it. The look fairly easy to rebuild, though. I've also used a Delta 2, which I quite like. I bought the RBA base for it, but haven't tried my hand on that one just yet. I don't see much in the way of small tanks these days. Not small like the evods/mini protanks. Most everything seems to be geared more toward rebuildable and sub ohm and capacity! I like the small factor, myself. Not a subohm person.

It's not that they wouldn't work, it's the leaking onto the battery and into the Mini itself that gives me paws.
Don't the Kanger protank mini's leak, too?

I haven't had any issues with mine. For a while, when they came out, all I read was people complaining about leaks and burnt/dry hits, etc... I've never had an ounce of trouble with mine and have been using them over 2 years. They're super handy for work where I need to be way more discreet, but I'm not a monster cloud chaser to begin with.

I have three (eVods) and they are all leakish. Perhaps it's in the style of vaping.
I have it in my mouth and breathe and "dry toke" on it a lot.

Maybe it's time to upgrade? A lot of people like the Aspire Nautilus, too. Just depends on the style of vaping you're looking for. If you wanna sub-ohm, there's a LOT of stuff to choose from.

Sorry for not responding more timely. I suppose I got broody, having just decided to upgrade to a mod and wishing for some simplicity before tumbling on deeper into vaping country. I also forgot a 510 to eGo adapter makes the entire issue of leaky clearomisers moot as it will seal off the device below, as it is closed. Or at least, mine is.

Merry 2016, Huck.

They do (I use a 510-eGo to run Kanger T3s tanks on my Mini). Just be careful of liquid leaking into the button or into the battery chamber. Fortunately, the battery's on the other side, but...

The LG HG2 is a fantastic battery, I would choose it over the Sony VTC4 (also a great battery) any day of the week for a regulated mod! I would also go with a new tank and scrap the Evods, mine were always leaking, no matter what I did.

By now, I already have the Sony VTC4. Still, it's nice to know that my first-stop-shop has their act together when they make recommendations.

tank tech has gotten very good and there are tons of good tanks that dont leak any more. In vape years those evods are really old and I remember them being really annoying.

If I had leaky tanks they'd be history. Just sayin'.

I used my eVic-VTC Mini with an eGo<->510 adapter and a Protank 3 Mini. That's when I discovered the PT3M really came alive at about 11-1/2 to 12W. (I've now got it on an iTaste VV4.)

Adapters seem to come in different sizes. The eGo section of the one I have seems to be too short to mount an EMOW on an IPOW2 or a VTC Mini, and the 510 section seems to be to short to mount an Evod on a VTC Mini.

What would be a good adapter to do both?
