I was recently researching Seattle`s Space Needle for possible thing to do for vacation (brother in Oregon too), and didn`t know that the Space Needle was built for the Worlds Fair.

I was a little shocked to learn that a friend and former co-worker didn`t have running water and plumbing in his home untill the mid 1970`s !
He`s not much older than me, I guess maybe 53 years old now.
He mentioned old department store catalogs too...lol

I tell you, the thought crossed my mind when posting; so did my friends parents and now him as well..
Farming can be very prosperous, I think..especially those who were frugal and wise with their money back then..and now.
I got kind of lucky we had 2 wells on our property where I grew up most others in the area had to truck up to the river.
In 1964 it was at the New York Worlds Fair,it was moved to Uniroyals sales headquarters in Allen Park along I-94 in Michigan in 1965...It turned 50 years old this year.....Google "Big Tire on I-94" for lots more on the history....Z

Just got back from Michigan and six week stay in Grand Haven...realy enjoyed the place and the people I worked with were awesome.
