Compact box mod with internal charging

hey guys,

Looking for suggestions on purchasing a compact box mod for carrying at work. I currently own a mech mod made out of a 1590B enclosure and a tug mech mod.

I'm looking for something small to carry daily at work. My 3x battery mech mod is a bit on the large and heavy side to carry around on jobs. And the tug is a little awkward to fit in the pocket with the button sticking out so far. Also it's quite difficult to charge these devices on the go

My main requirements are

Regulated (don't care about TC honestly)
Want something I can charge on the go aka plug and play
Must be square/rectangle..aka box shaped (for various reasons)

Guy at the local shop recommended a tesla two? It seemed nice in the hand but at only $35-$40 I was questioning its quality. Ideally it was the shape that would suit my needs

I'd like to stay under $120ish
Lcd screen would be nice but not a must

Thanks guys

Evic VTC Mini. Best bang for the buck! Especially with Firmware V3.0 upgrade.

For $120 shipped, (from the USA) you can get a VT200 (DNA200 mod). It uses a 3s Lipo, charge via a USB port and is smaller than a dual 18650 mod. Might be more than you are looking for, but I have one and I love it. Just throwing it out there for your consideration. IMO It's the best board out atm (the board alone sells for ~$80). Can be set up to use any TC wire out there, adjustable TCR and you can even add your own TC curves via Escribe,

Cheers,
Steve

Here's a picture with a IPV3 Li (dual 18650) for size comparison.

3 DNA200 mods with a dual 18650 mod. L to R Lavabox, IPV3 Li (dual 18650), VT200, DX200

I 2nd the eVic VTC Mini for a compact mod. If you want compact that doesn't require batteries, iStick 30w, tiny, lasts me 2 days on a charge.

I just got me evic mini. I'm liking it so far. It uses one battery, and you can USB charge it. Someone told me it is NOT a pass thru, though. I saw on some vendor site ( I'm sorry, but I cannot remember which ) a JoyeTech evic mini that has an internal built in battery. It's a little more expensive, but no separate battery required. EHPRO makes one, but I don't know the quality of it. Its 80 watt, maybe, with internal battery. In store, it's 80 bucks, but much cheaper online. Then there's the Tesla Nano. I looked at it, but couldn't find much info on its quality, either. I will second or third the Evic VCT mini recommendation. I've only used it one day, but it's nice so far.

Look at the D2 or D3 mods. Tiny and powerful.

Here's another vote for the EVic VTC Mini. One of the best bang for the buck mods around, especially after the v3.0 update.

for multi-function choice: joyetech vtc mini,

for ultra compact choice : s-body macro (dna40 chip, you can find at vaporshark.com)

When I need a dependable compact box mod with great battery life, I usually scoop up my 60w evic VT and go. Set it and forget it. Not something I like fiddling with all the time though. That little toggle switch can be annoying, but the battery life is impressive. You can probably pick one up for under $40 if you shop around.

What are you considering impressive for battery life? I'm not getting a,full day out of my evic mini on a full charge with the 1.2 crown heads at 25 watts. I'm not sure what I should be expecting. I bought a battery until my order comes in, so I may just have a crappy battery. Not sure of the brand. It's brown and supposed to be a 3000 mah battery. I'm sure it's rewrapped, so it may be the battery.

I'm not talking about the mini. I'm referring to the original 60w VT with the built-in 5,000 mah battery pack.

Yeah, the VT isn't as small or as lightweight as a mini, but it's smaller than a pack of cigarettes and will easily allow for consumption of 5 ml of juice on a single charge. That could be two days for some people and just until lunchtime for others.

The VT meets all the OP requirements:
  • Regulated (don't care about TC honestly)
  • can charge on the go aka plug and play
  • Must be square/rectangle..aka box shaped (for various reasons)
  • under $120ish
  • Lcd screen would be nice but not a must
