Trash these efest batteries?

So on my first mod I got an unregulated tugboat/tuglyfe clone and a set of Efest 18650 35A 2500mAh 3.7v batteries. I used a mad hatter rda at .25ish ohms

I only ran the tug for less than two weeks before getting an unregulated triple box and some vtc4s

First thing I noticed was battery life,

Running the vtc4s in the triple box i get about two days of solid vaping.
In the tug with the efest batteries I got a day if I was lucky, and even then everything felt very underpowered about an hour after first firing it up

I chalked it up to being the dual vs triple batteries

But now after reading threads and watching videos I'm wondering if it's just that the efest are underpowered and "garbage as I've seen them referred to. Honestly I'm nervous to use them again and will definitwly not be running that low of ohm on them.

Is it safe to use these at a higher ohm? Should I just trash them and get different batteries to run on the tug?

Thank you

Seems like you answered your own question.

Reading about rewraps and the reactions to them has become one of my favorite things on VU. Hopefully there will be some good rants here.

Thanks for the reply mate

I'm wondering if I would be safe to run them at .5 or if they are just unsafe across the board. I'm very new to vaping and I would rather be safe than sorry. It kind of blows to have spent the $$ on these potato batteries

Check out Mooch's report at the top of this forum area, he has tested some batteries and found that the Efest ones were 15+amp with 2700ish mAH. So the lifespan should be good, but the power output a bit less.

As far as lifespan you are looking at 3X2100mAH (6300) vs 2X2700ish mAH(5400). From your reports you're saying that the dual setup is at less than half the lifespan of the triple. That to me would say that the Efests are nearing the end of their days as lifespan is one of the signs of a worn out battery. You should be seeing a day and a half or so compared to a full 2 days.

As far as safety if they're like Mooch reports it's 15amps so 22-23amps with a parallel setup. So safety wise you're well within the parameters considering the build you have is going to register ~16amps. So you shouldn't worry there, but... probably time to chuck them as they sound like they're old anyways.

Buy the premium stuff from now on not to waste money, everyone who vapes knows that sometimes you buy a dud, it sucks, but if you can learn a lesson from it, well it's not really wasted money ;).

Thanks everyone for the replies, I threw on a 0.5 coil and the battery life seems a little better. I got these batteries December 5th so I really hope they're not pooping out on me already. The tug feels a bit under powered with the .5 coil and the juice doesn't warm up as much.

I was sitting at my desk vaping earlier and after taking a hit I sat the vape down, and about 15 seconds later I heard an exhaust type sound almost like if you were taking a small pull on the vape but I'm not sure if it came from the tank or the inside. Needless to say after watching/reading all these exploding battery stories I was a bit worried. The batteries were cool to the touch and no visible juicing so I'm not really sure what that was about. :eek:o_O

Batteries should last a good long time. liionwholesale.com is the place to get batteries IMO. Their prices are phenomenal. Also, I've read stories, so file this under hearsay, that Efest will just pull batteries from used electronics and stick a wrap on them.
