Cleaning an rda with Ni200 coils

I know you can't just dry fire nickel wire, so what is the best way to clean a gunky nickel cool? I'm finding myself replacing them every three or so days since they gunk up so fast.

I bring my Ti coils up to temp (in TC obviously), then give a quick but careful rinse by holding the mod sideways under light running water just enough to get the coils. I get my kanthal coils glowing and do the same thing. After that I throw my whole RDA/ RBA deck in an ultrasonic cleaner (<$30 at Harbor Freight) with hot water and a little dish soap for a couple 3 minute cycles. Give them a good rinse and presto. It works VERY well on gunked up Claptons. Rarely do I need to readjust the coils. If I do, it is more times than not because pulling the old wicks moved them a bit. Trimming one end down before pulling them will help. If you don't have a cleaner, a soft bristled tooth brush will work very well too like the others have said.

I apologize if it makes a difference between the 2 wire types. I thought if it's in the proper TC mode, it is safe to bring them up to the set temp. Please correct me if I'm wrong and disregard my comment lo_vis if I am.

You can fire Ni and clean it. But you need a lot of air moving across the coil, and patience.

Canned air will work.

BUT in the end. It's simpler and faster to just brush it off. Or place it in a US cleaner.

To be honest I just dry fire my claptons to clean them, nickel wire is cheap. $6 for 50' at Lightning vapes, so might as well just rebuild them when they're gunked up terribly. I enjoy the vape from claptons more imho
