Recommend me a 26650?

Hi everyone.

I ordered my first 26650 mech today, I have 4 18650 mechs and a lot more regulated mods.

Now-I use 25R's or lg HE4's for those applications-but I don't have a clue about 26650's.

What is a recommended brand?

I am not going to be building super low, I just wanted a 26650 mech.

Is there a generally recognised 26650 that gets recommended like the 25R, and if so, which one? I will order them today, I am in the UK but should be able to find them over here.

Thanks everyone, Conan.

IMRBatteries ships to UK. As far as what battery to buy I couldn't tell you, I am wanting to pick up a 26650 also but haven't gotten around to it yet and have a few things I want to get first.

I can't buy from there unfortunately, as I am in the UK. Jon explained there is no shipping to the UK if not bulk, but it is trying to be set up.
Jon has the Efest 26650's and gives his test results in the write up so it might be worth a read even though you can't buy from him.

For what it's worth, I have a Vanilla Sky 26650 tube mod, that I use Efest batteries in. I've never had a problem with it, building down to .3 ohms.

I have gone for the Efest, it seemed about the best I could get in the UK. I wont be building super low on it, so should be fine. I don't LIKE getting batteries from them, but in this case, it was more of a MUST to use the device.

Hopefully it is a good one, ordered it earlier today and the battery too along with a tank.

Can't wait to get it in my hands and get building and try it out :).

Thats what I had to go for in the end, it seemed all I could really get from anywhere reputable, and glad to hear that, It won't get used as often as my regulated devices, but mechs have a certain charm to them so I have a few :).

I don't use mechs often myself. But I do enjoy the beauty of the copper vanilla sky, and the nostalgia of it.

Besides, it hits like a TANK. :D

Well it arrived-I ordered the GREEN 4200MAH though, but got a Purple 4200MAH.

I did some research, and it seems that the BAD purple efests were the 3500MAH ones, and the good green was 4200MAH-but this was a good year ago.

I have contacted the shop, it is a huge well known store and spoke to their battery guy-we had a 16 minute chat as he said "it's nice to know someone who knows what they are talking about for a change" after I corrected his ohms law equation.

I am only using this around 0.5, I haven't even got the Mech yet, but the guy wasn't sure either if Efest have simply changed the wrapper of the 4200MAH battery, or it is different.

He took my email adress and is going to find out himself, as he didn't know either and will let me know.

Now all I have to wait for is the actual mod. Massive january sales offer on focalecig, got the tree of life mod on the way in white.

But, drawing 8A I don't think any battery will really vent (apart from some really, really bad ones) so it will suit my needs fine-I just want to know if its the same battery with a new wrapper or completely different, as I did order the green but it turned up purple :/

Don't they make a 26650 enclosure that holds an 18650 cell? If so, maybe grab one of those and put a known good 18650 in it instead of buying Efests shit... Because who knows what actual cells those shady fuckers are sticking wraps on. All we know for sure is that efest didn't make it, but they sourced it from somewhere.

...and if efest 26650 cells actually test better than any of the big 3's branded 26650 cells then I'd bet the efest 26650 actually has a major brands 18650 in the tube. They're not capable or competent enough to make one of their own.

I already own many 18650 Mechs man-I just wanted a 26650 mech for the collection.

Who would you say are the big 3 of the 26650 world? I know 18650's well, but not 26650's.

I know Efest aren't capable of anything really-they just rewrap others batteries with massive differences in amp limits, and that is what I REALLY dislike about them-I have spoken to many Chinese manufacturers, and they all seem to think lying about the battery is better than giving a true amp rating. They must live very, very different lives.

From what I understand, Sony made a killer 50A 26650 - key word made. Seems once the overstock from whatever they were used for was released into the wild vapers quickly snapped them all up and there are no more coming down the pipeline...

can't remember exactly but I think they were 30A 3500 mAh.. I do remember they went a long time on a single charge...
