Hey guys. Just got a 18650 3000mah efest battery. This is my second efest battery first one did well in my kanger subox. But I've been using samsungs and lgs in my other mods. The shop only had efest so I used it. I believe this efest isn't discharging battery properly to point where battery shows near full but when I pull anything barely comes out and I look at screen and battery shows dead. This is supposedly a 3000mah 35amp battery. My Samsung in the same box is 2500mah and 35 amp. Handles it like a champ no drop in power, nothing. I've had this happen to me before with another battery and swapped it out for an lg instead of an efest. Now I don't know if I should try another efest since that's what shop only has right now or do something else

Efests are Chinese rewraps. Pitch em and buy authentic batteries such as sony, lg, or samsung.

What kind of shop only have Efests? Find a new shop.

You can see in the other thread, this battery I think they had a manufacturing issue and wrapped some of the wrong battery and they got mixed in. The normal Efest 3000mAh is a good battery (even though it's overrated at 35A, but treated as a 15-20A battery it's very good). But some very rarely are the wrong thing under the wrapper and they'll show the symptoms you're seeing. See if the shop will exchange it for you.

Me, I would not purchase an Efest battery on a bet.

You never know what is lurking under the Re-Wrap!

I have 4 eFest 18650's and they work fine treating them like 20 amp batteries. Lately though I have heard rumblings of some shitty cells mistakenly getting under those rewraps.

I doubt I'll ever buy anymore of the eFest brand. I've been happy with all my other Samsung and LG cells. And for the price, fuck it, I'll stick to the better name brands.

I mostly agree that LG and Samsungs are the best, but I still have a soft spot for the Sony VTC4 when for mechs. I know the LG HB2 is a better cell, but the extra 600mAh is tempting, and I've probably gone through about 10 of those cells back in my exclusively mech days. They've been cycled far too many times to be useful anymore, but they were nice while they lasted.
