I am starting to think that regardless of the care you take that nic oxidezes pretty quickly....when your mixing juices with like 3mg or 6mg of nic the oxidation of nic doesn't really make it to offensive, but when you start mixing juices at say 12,18, or higher nic levels the oxidtion of the nic can really make a huge effect on the flavor of the juice.....quickly

Hey thanks for the reviews, Wayne. Here's a spreadsheets comparing prices as of Jan 2016. Nicotine prices are for 100mg. These do not include wholesale account prices or shipping costs. I think LiquidBarn is the choice, and the Nicotine is up for debate.

Vaperstek also offers the Throat Hit nic (oxidized, but clean tasting, mild throat hit) for $25 a liter.

I've yet to try them, but Nicotine River offers NicSelect @ $60 per liter. Certainly worth consideration (although I'm currently enjoying the 'Throat Hit' from VT).

Just a quick update: My CXTC nic is faring noticeably better than my VT after prolonged exposure to open air (from a visual perspective at least). I mixed a 50/50 solution with each several weeks ago using two identical LDPE bottles and left them to sit in a dark cabinet. The VT solution is now a light golden/copper color while the CXTC is still perfectly clear.

Does this affect anything at all? I've no idea, just wanted to report my results. This weekend I will use each in the same recipe and see if I can detect any differences in flavor.

I would suspect the darker one would have a stronger throat hit, but you'd have to be the judge.

I did a similar test with the 2 Nicotines you mention......Spoiler alert.......I vaped them both without flavor and there is a difference in clean taste between the two.......CXTC was absolutely a cleaner vape......It was you, retrox, who turned me on to CXTC and I wish to thank you for that referral........VT seemed to have a faint, sort of "tinged" taste to it......Kinda like the difference between drinking tap water and drinking fresh spring water.

@Flavor Alchemist, glad the CXTC worked out for you, and thanks for the spoiler! I'm eminently curious now, so I'll probably go ahead and sample some unflavored tonight before my mixing session. For the past couple of months I've been using the VT for my girlfriend's juice (shhh!) and keeping all the CXTC for myself. No complaints from her. Then again, I use about 60% more flavoring in her mixes than I use in mine due to her hardware setup, so there's a good chance any peppery notes are being concealed by the flavoring.

Along with VT, I've used nic from VZ, ECX, NN, WL, and MFS, and none of them stayed perfectly clear outside of the freezer for 8+ weeks like this CXTC has. If I hadn't already performed a titration and vaped a bunch of this stuff, I'd swear that somebody at CXTC screwed up and sent me a bottle of straight PG. :D

Well, as long as I am not Jonesin' for a cigarette, I figure that the Nicotine is there....... :) .......It is the cleanest I have vaped, and given my issue with VT sending me some "throat hit" nicotine in lieu of the clean nic that I ordered, perhaps I am partial.....However, VT did resend me 450 ml of their "top shelf".....which I did break down into some 30 ml Boston Rounds.....So I got like 13 bottles, properly filled and capped in the freezer....and some in the fridge, which I will use from time to time........but still ordered my 2nd order from Carolina........

Yep, got a little pepper in the VT now. It's not bad, though. Probably wouldn't notice it at 6 mg with some flavoring in there. I'm getting a more "tingly" throat hit from it too, compared with the CXTC which is more... punchy? More defined, more satisfying. I approve of your analogy, @Flavor Alchemist! The flavor difference is subtle enough that I probably wouldn't notice if I didn't vape them one after the other. But there is definitely a difference. There's a lightly bitter note in the VT that I'm not getting from the CXTC at all.

Wow, I'm blinded with science. Or maybe they're using voodoo?

(or maybe it's just cold-extraction)

Where does Nicotine River stack up in this review? I think there a great company with great prices and the greatest customer service out there. Same quality as NUDE as far as nicotine quality. And the PG and VG is perfect too. VG is Musim Mas plant-based palm and is Kosher, USP certified. & DOW REACH APPROVED 99.8% PG. If you haven't tried Nicotine River your missing out, right @Nicotine_River_Chemist ?

Yeah, lots of folks raving about NicSelect. I'm still working through my supply of CXTC, which continues to be perfect for me. I've had quite a bit of air in the 500ml bottle (it's down to 1/4 full, stored in the freezer) for quite a while now and it's finally, but just barely, starting to turn a very faint pink-ish color. Shelf life on this stuff is pretty amazing. Probably several years by my estimation if degradation continues at the current rate. Flavor is still super clean. The VT sample I've aged alongside it is the color of apple cider.

I'm probably going to re-up my dwindling VT supply with Nic River's stuff in the next few weeks to see how it measures up.

I'm quite surprised by your notes about Essential Depot. Haven't had any "sweat" flavor, but now I'm wondering what it does contribute to my flavors...
I may well try Nude Nic for next batch of VG/PG, as they've been my go-to for Nic. I'm FAIRLY stocked up, but any hint of regulation change, and I'll be buying another few years' worth - and will tack on some VG and PG.

Anyone else agree or disagree about Essential Depot product??

I'm working on a gallon I bought about 1-1/2 yrs ago.
Still sweet tasting and vapes good in unflavored 25/75vg.
This is the "Palm" VG. Haven't tried the soy version.

I have 12 gallons and 4,000ml of PG and 4 gallons of VG since my nic is 100% vg. I can sell those 1,000ml plastic bottles here, right?
Based on what I've read here, I really do need to get a fridge for my bases. My pg/vg has been sitting in closed boxes on a cool tile floor for close to 3 months in a cool room. I was able to put about 12 gallons of nic (I'm still at 18mg) in 32oz amber growlers and in 16, 8, 6oz amber and droppers in my freezers (fridges) but those big gallons have nowhere to go. Damn.
Excellent post advice, @wayne.walkerr . Extremely helpful. ED nic here.

I've bought a few quarts of the palm/coconut stuff off ebay. Yes, it is sweet and tastes pretty good unflavored or flavored imo.

quick note

vaperstek nicotine is made in the uk but ships form the states. its easy to get imho. my last order took 3 days to get to me

also i have read many places that there is basically one company making all the vg in the states and therefor all vg is basically the same

Actually VapersTek uses Chemnovatic nicotine. Chemnovatic is a Polish company. Heartland Labs is another US company using Chemnovatic nicotine.

Go with HiLIQ's 99.9% 100mg nic base. The smoothest and cleanest I've found to date. I've been making my own e liquid since 2011.

You might ask around in this thread. Maybe they could recommend a vendor? http://vapingunderground.com/threads/uk-diy-ers.192437/

I must admit I'm a flavour Art convert I buy direct from the uk website ... I've tried thier own VG and PG base it's hands down the best I've tried to date. The VG is really thick and a little sweet smelling, but doesn't interfere with the concentrate flavours coming through ... produces freaking awesome clouds especially when using the smok beast tank.

Ok it's not the cheapest out there but you are getting what you pay for, also 1lt bottles at a time is a chore... now I just need to find a decent Nic base in the uk somewhere the one I have is peppery, thankfully I'm down to low % now (any suggestions welcome)

You might have some luck in this thread for nic supplier opinions in the UK. http://vapingunderground.com/threads/uk-diy-ers.192437/
