The black looks very sexy, it is beautiful and blends well with the screen, but i am very concerned about the finish durability, my "black" Kanger stuff Mod and Tank has the paint chipped off all over the place just from simple things like cleaning juice spills with a paper tower or simply placing the Mod/Tank gently on a desk, and it makes it look so damn ugly.

I am holding the fire button on purchasing the Black version until someone verifies the durability of the paint/finish, because i would rather have the silver version which i do not like a lot than having a black version that would look ugly after few weeks because of peeled off paint.

Can someone who owns the black device try a simple scratch test on the inside of the battery cover/compartment to verify the durability of the finish? what do you guys think i should get? the silver/un-painted one or the sexy black? :)
Just pull the trigger on the black one.

I am really hard on my mods, they get battered and banged around, jammed into pockets with other stuff, and dropped (accidentally). Despite the abuse I put my mods through, the VTC finish has held up admirably. In fact, for those complaining about the IPV flaking finishes of the past, I have both the IPV D2 and the VTC Mini in black, and the D2 finish has held up better than the VTC, but both of them are really good sturdy finishes. Neither of them has flaked where they have been scratched, dinged, or battered. They definitely will NOT flake or scratch from wiping them off with a paper towel!!!

HTH!

I find this hard to take seriously. My main concern with my mods is how they perform, not if they have a speck of paint missing. For example: I had a DNA200 mod (DX200) fly out of my pocket and skid down the cement driveway while exiting my car. The battery and mod separated (it's made to come apart), drip tip flew off, glass tank cracked. A few chips and small dents to the corner of the mod (gives it character). My main concern was would it still work. To my relief, it works just fine. To me mods are tools, there supposed to be used, might even get dropped once in awhile. There not paintings or sculptures to be put behind glass cases and admired. I don't have plastic on my furniture or a synthetic bubble on my car either for fear it might get a scratch on it.

I pre-ordered one last week, silver. Also got the Cubis tank and a 5 pack of coils. It should ship on the 10th. Pretty excited. This is a HUGE step up for me as I'm using an Istick right now. Won't use the temp control until I do some reading about it but I'm really excited for it to get here. My batteries came yesterday. Now I just need something to put them in!!

everyone is different, my interest in this mod is highly driven by looks, if i was after pure performance i would get the Wismec with 3 batteries, but i just can't stand its looks and manufacturing quality!

I would assume the finish would be the same as that used on the eVic-VTC Mini. Mine hasn't been abused, but it has been used. A bit of wear where the attys seat, is all. Other than that: Still looks as good as the day I took it out of the box.

Personally: I'd be far more concerned about that big, shiny black plastic all along one side. That I would expect to be a fingerprint, dirt, scuff and scratch magnet. I've never seen a plastic surface like that that was not. That, more than anything, is why I'm probably passing on this mod.

...No, the Silver 'color' isn't the bare metal clear-coated.
I might be wrong about that statement, probably am. After seeing some close-ups, it does look like Stainless. Just wanted to correct my mis-statement (though I'd still buy the black).

The display on your mini is reasonably large. Does it now look like crap? Is it a fingerprint, dirt, scuff and scratch magnet? ...or have you just been deliberately careful handling it. I'd imagine the Cuboid display would be the same, and my mini is no worse for wear after weeks of daily casual handling.

Yes, it sometimes does look pretty nasty and I carefully clean it up. It's pretty much unavoidable for something you're handling frequently. It does have one tiny little scuff mark, which I just recently noticed.

I've been careful, but I haven't "babied" it.

Except 5-6 times the expanse.

In any event: I just plain don't care for the looks of shiny black plastic. Period. Even when it's not dirty, smudged, scratched or scuffed. Apparently most people either like it or find it acceptable. Otherwise manufacturers wouldn't make so many things with those finishes. I particularly dislike the combination of shiny black plastic and chrome, stainless, aluminium or other bright, shiny metals. Or, worse yet: Shiny black plastic + shiny metallic-looking plastic.

I like the Mini. I do not like the Cuboid. I'll probably just buy another Mini.

Mine is out for delivery today!
Nice! I had originally ordered one from 3fvape but after waiting a week for them to ship it out I canceled the order and went with VaoprDNA (same place I got my first VTC Mini). They also had the Serpent RTA in black so I ordered one to top the Cuboid. Can't wait.
