I have a quandry

I need to fly out to Atlantic City for a customer project Sunday night. I'll only take one mod and one tank most likely. The candidates are either the RX200, the Fuchai or a Koopor Mini. I would ordinarily take the Koopor for size but it's battery life sucks and I really don't want to take a charger. So that really leaves the Fuchai out of the picture as well. Nervous about taking the RX200. I guess I wouldn't kill it if I just take a wall adapter and charge it when I sleep. The last time I tried to charge using the USB it got pretty warm...which makes me nervous.

Feedback?

I can tell you, that they need to go in your carry on with the batteries removed and placed into a battery case also with you in the carry on.

I would take rhe RX and wall charge it. I have only charged using my 4 bay wall charger but from what I hear the RX is perfectly fine to plug into the wall, it just takes forever.

Yes Whiskey understood. I do fly from time to time. I've got a zippered case for the mod, tank and juice and a zippered battery case that will hold 3 batteries.

And yeah...still leaning toward the RX.

If you are scared to charge your mod because it heats up, you should get rid of it...

Why get rid of something with removable batteries?

As per the OP-
The last time I tried to charge using the USB it got pretty warm...which makes me nervous.

If I had a mod I didn't trust not to blow up while charging, it would go in the trash...

I don't recall saying anything about blowing up per se. You've never charged anything that got warm during charging? Probably concerned you but it didn't blow up.

Just out of curiosity what do you use for a cell phone?

No. My stuff doesn't get warm to where I would ever feel nervous about it while charging. iPhones...

OMG those have Chinese parts!

Assembled by FoxCon under very strict Apple specs and QC- far, far different than most China made e-cigs...

At it again ay Steve? Lol.

Take the RX, its not an iStick 50, it can handle an overnight charge.

Clearly you've ignored the many Foxconn expose posted.

I've got an idea : could I just signal if I need you? Like a bat signal thing?

My advice was to throw out a mod one feels unsafe using or charging...

Come on now Steve, was it much harder to say, "Hey, it would be safe for you to charge it over night, unless you truly feel it gets so dangerously hot as to cause venting/ combustion you should contact the manuf/ distributor to have them tell you whether its normal or cause for concern and should be replaced via warranty."

Not, "Throw it away then"

:p

Thank you. For doing what you do. There must be a curious fascination associated with thread killing. Sort of like tearing off fly wings or using a magnifying glass on ants on a sunny day. Duly noted.

I actually wouldn't feel comfortable charging the vast majority of mods vapers use, especially if they got warm enough to cause concern, let alone on holiday, where a hotel could be burned to the ground...

But for only a limited time? I agree, I don't see why a 2 or 4 bay charger couldn't be packed, but damn they build chargers into them for situations like this lol.

Yep. Be scanning the news next week. "Atlantic City hotel burns to ground. Chinese electronics feared to be cause. News at 11."

I can understand a healthy fear of batteries in our application, more so when dealing with mech mods, but you can't be afraid of shadows.

I leave batteries charging untended while on holiday, but on a good charger, with batteries which have never been pushed near their limits, which don't get warm charging, which are less than a year old.
After I saw my buddies iStick, and knowing he charges it at home in close proximity to his son and wife, I took it from him and gave him a Radius. Too many stories and pictures of mods burning and bodily injury to risk ones safety or the safety of others on mods which cost the manufacturer $5 to produce...

Wow... Ok look I'll only charge the damn thing while I'm able to keep an eye on it. I promise.

Lol! No the only thing he gives me is a need for more sarcasm. I've got a pretty deep well to draw from. I try to keep it in check but some people just naturally bring it out.

Very big difference between very warm and hot... Don't sweat it! Your own nervousness is more of a negative issue (holding you back). Relax, be happy, enjoy your mod. It's supposed to get warm via usb charging.

there are a couple shops not far from ac i live in jersey and theres one on white horse pike its about 15-20 mins outside of ac i think its called voltage vapor plus whatever else on the strip but i wouldnt really trust them most smoke shops too so if you need to pick things up while youre there you can always run there im sure they have some charging stations if you need
