I'm trying to make a spaced clapton using the loop method so I don't have to waste a bunch of wire doing a parallel clapton then removing one. Which I would have to do twice because I'm trying to make a staggered clapton. My problem is that when I'm going down the core with the clapton wire and loop it keeps breaking at the chuck of the drill. I don't feel like I'm putting too much tension on it.. any less and I'm sure that the spaced clapton will be loose and springy. Does anyone have any tips for this?

Can you supply a photo?
Looking straight-on at the chuck, with wire tightened in the jaws, just like you normally have the wire situated while working.

This is how I have my set up going. Don't mind the crap around my building area. The house is a mess currently.

Don't know why it's putting the picture sideways. I'll try to take a closer one

BTW I'm claptoning 28g with 34g. I usually clapton with 24, but I had the idea of making 3 spaced claptons with 28/34 & claptoning those three with either 34 or 36.
