Need help fixing e-liquid. Hardly any throat hit, or vapor.

This is my first time trying a DIY E-liquid

I just bought a 250ml bottle of nicotine base that's 75% PG, and 25% VG,
I added 6ml of flavor which I think was suspended in PG,
and I'm getting a really weak throat hit, and hardly any vapor.
I have to take huge drags to even feel anything.

And it also takes a really long time to heat up and produce any vapor, compared to my old pre-made e-liquid.
It also makes a bubbling noise, when I drag on it, and sometimes a drop will shoot out, and burn my tongue.
Sometimes, my vape pen feels like it's clogged up.
And the e-lquid seems really inconsistent, like 1 hit I would get an okay throat hit, and the next hit would be nothing.

The e-liquid looks kind of runny, but it also behaves like it's too thick...

I have put the e-liquid in a blender, and I have put the bottle it in hot water, and left it in the coffee machine for like 2 hours.

You're running really low VG. I normally at a minimum, do 70/30, VG,PG. With 80/20 being closer to my norm. I don't have any experience with PG ratios as high as yours. PG normally gives the throat hit, and VG the cloud. You didn't by any chance reverse the VG/PG ratios when you ordered did you?

Can you give us more details on the flavoring you ordered and also the source of the nic base? I'm asking, because you've ended up with around 5% flavoring, which is pretty low unless it's by someone like Flavor Art.

Here is the nicotine base that I bought.
250ml @ 24mg nicotine 75% PG, 25% VG,

And the flavor is Flavor Art

The pre-made e-lquid that I bought was from the same site, with the same flavor.
Their mix said 80% PG, 20% VG.
And it vaped really well.

But when I tried to do it myself, with ingredients from the same site,
It's really water, and runny, and takes a long time to heat up.

Weird - you should be getting plenty of throat hit with 24mg and that high of a PG level. Did you try a new coil? What equipment are you using?

If they only added 6ml of flavor, to a 250 ml bottle, they are closer to 2.5% flavor.

I'm using a CE5 Clearomizer, with a 510 UGO VIII 1300mah Passthrough battery.

Yeah, I'm going to add more flavor later, but right now, I'm still trying to get the PG/VG ratios right....

Duh - you're right!

I'd change up that CE5 for something like a Nautilus! Did you put in a new coil? The PG ratio should be fine for that clearo.

Also, are you getting enough flavor?

My old e-lquid seems more dry, and the new e-liquid I tried to make, and also one that I bought from the store seems really watery, and bubbly.
Do you guys really think I should add more VG?

You're going to have to experiment, but remember you'll reduce the nic level! Looks like you need to do a little playing around with a small amount (say 10 mls or so).

Here's my guess. Your running a very high PG ratio. The juice is so thin that it is getting to the coil to fast and making it feel like it's clogged because it's flooding the coil. This would also explain the spitting. Run to Walmart and pick you up a bottle of VG, take 10 ML of your 75/25 PG/PG and pour it into something. Every 1ml VG you add to this is going to bring the percentage of VG up roughly 10% in your mix. Add 3 ml of VG to the mix, and see how it does. That will put your test batch at close to 50/50. I'm betting it starts to improve.

OMG!!! I just switched to a new Clearomizer and it's hitting a lot better.
I guess the coil in my old Clearomizer is dying.

I thought it was the juice!!! lol
LOL, and that would do it also. Glad you got it going.

Most of those smaller type clearos are made for running the thinner liquids IMO.
Like 80/20VG or 70/30VG, due to the smaller juice holes in the heads.
You may get dry burnt hits from the higher VG tho, just sayin'.

......in addition, since those little clearos have such a small surface area of wick and coil,....higher PG (flavor carrier) is generally required, along with higher flavor percentages.....If I am not mistaken, the juice that B%M vape shops sell for those kind of devices, is generally in the 20% flavoring range.....So yeah, that 2 1/2 % certainly is not gonna give a pleasing vape........One thing to consider, also is that if he is adding flavor only (which is probably PG based), he is adding PG to his ratio, which also may account for his reduced vapor......I like Bucky205s approach, but may increase VG just a tad......and beef up in the flavoring %s....but by how much....don't know, cuz he didn't mention the brand flavoring he was using.......nice to see him reporting better results
