I received one to review sometime last year. It was kind of a POS. The board is pretty terrible.

Lol. Well there you go.
Maybe look for a deal on the SteamCrave if you want a regulated squonker?

Loving the Reo so far.:)

I thought you MTL'ed? If so you could use a smaller diameter atty.
please explain what you mean I'm not a squonker , but on the reo site almost all those attys need a LP mod...I think even the reomizer2 needs a LP mod.
I mean I really like the idea of a smaller atty like 18-16-mm ranges I thought you needed a LP mod to use them something about the cup....what is it that decides whether or not you use a LP mod.

You are correct PV. The catch cup on regular REO Grands makes it impossible to make a connection with most atties; only ultra small diameter atties can be used with them ( or cartos which is what a lot of folks used with them early on ) ... unless you file down the catch cup that is, essentially making it an LP.

ETA: Regarding the OP, I know a few folks that got the Greyscano and it did not fair well ... leaked badly and like someone else mentioned, had a POS circuit board.

I have one. They are garbage. Not worth the money, even at $27.

Some of the better flavor MTL attys work fine with the original; A7, Cyclone, Chalice, Scar, OG RM2, or any other <16mm BF atty

Also, they can be sent to Catfish Atty Mods and drilled for about 30$ if they aren't already BF.

Dang that sucks @Zamazam, the Reo has made set down every other Mod so far. I wish there would have been a cheaper alternative to trying squonking so it could develop a bigger fan base, thus more affordable entry level mods.

I have a LP and a standard Reo, plus a woodville. The board in the Greyscano is crap. If I could fit a sx mini board in it, it might be salvageable.

Squonking is much more convenient than dripping, but gives you that same saturated flavor.

thanks for the link! cheaper than i expected. would you know if this rda is any good?
http://shop.steamcrave.com/squonkmod-2_p0884.html

I honestly couldn't tell you on that part.
I'll link a thread by inswva covering the mod though, maybe someone covers it at some point in the thread.
https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/steam-crave-regulated-squonker.698644/

Skimming through it looks like the atty isn't favored.

Ive tried a BF Derringer, Sapor, Velocity, RM4, and Odin V1.
The Odin hands down wins in flavor, the V2 has more airflow. Though it costs the same as the mod. :(

Look at a SIB, mosfet protected switch, good down to .12 (I never go that low, .17 is my floor)

Plus it's made by Vets. Damn right, I bought 2 sets, one for me and one for my Army buddy Lucius. He used to get shit over his name until he bombed weights and got uber ripped.

For sure, its another upside among many buying a box from them. 2 drip tips, 2 bottles, best RDA Ive used, and a killer looking squonk rig.

Lol, anyone ever call him Malfoy?
I worked with a Lucius at a restraunt in Georgetown, TX when I moved on to Southwestern's campus, everyone called him that.

Looks really nice but I'm more comfortable with a vw device, never used anything else.

A mech with the right build in the squonker atty is just of the charts tasty. Ask any vet squonker.

Did you already order? They have a NY warehouse I think with the 200 units on the special, I am unsure of this though, just saw it mentioned in that thread. Maybe call and see if they have them state side?

Ok, so not very far from a mech, that'll truly make the switch a simpler one for you than most.
This is because you aren't pushing much more than 4v when you vape at those ohms/ watts.

For an example we'll use .35ohms

@4.2 volts on a fresh battery you'll be pushing 50w and pulling 12amps.
@4.0v (after 30min-1hr of use or so) you'll be pushing 46w and pulling 11.5amps
@3.7v which is a good cut off point on a mech mod you will be pushing 39w and pulling 10.5 amps

These are all safe amp levels on just about any battery designed for vaping.

Even if you ran the batteries down to 3.5v (which sometimes happens until you learn how to judge voltage by diminished flavor and vapor production on a mech) you would still be pushing 35w and only pulling 10amps.

It may be running a bit higher than you normally do at first, but the power delivery of a mech is completely different than that of a VV/VW device.
Smoother ramp to me.

Bookmark http://www.steam-engine.org/ohm.asp and fiddle around with different ohms and builds if you don't initially like what you drop in it.

I run my Odin V1 @ .32oHms and love it.

the batteries i have are lg he2 and he4's.
sounds like your advising against draining the batteries to far? that would be easy enough to do, i'd much rather error on the safe side.
thanks again for the help man, it's appreciated.

There is no exact floor on battery voltage, Ive run them to 3.4v before, its more important once you get below .2ohms

For longevity and performance you wont want to do that constantly. Ive gotten to the point where I can fairly accurately judge when I'm at 3.6 and slap them in the charger.

I have a lot of HE2s, good battery, you won't have many problems with LG bats.

Got mine yesterday. Like the mod. Form is good, and is not too big. The door design is great and works well. Buttons have slight rattle, but are clicky and well placed. I loaded up an AFC Cylone I had built with SS 316l and squonked away.
Not sure on the atty yet, as I have not built it yet. The drain hole is on center post and does not appear that it will fully drain. I have lots of others for bottom feed so not a big deal for me.

got mine yesterday also. sqonking is a blast and I'm really loving the atty. i'm running .31 ohms, figured i'd start on the safe side. pictured next to my 75tc sigelei to show size. probably normal for boxes but feels bigger than i'm used to.
